Daily Devotion
How do we begin the day at CCS?
With a song and Bible teaching! We love our morning devotion time!
At the lower school campus, PK through 6th Grade begin the day in the gym with a song of worship, a scripture devotion, and the doxology. For students in the upper school, morning singing and devotion happens between 1st and 2nd period classes each day.
Some of this week's scriptures were:
- 1 John 1:5-7
- 1 John 4:4
- Deuteronomy 31:4-8
- Proverbs 3:5-6
A Look Back at the Week
Spring Snow?
Snow in late March? Yep! That is how weather works in Alabama!
Students (and everyone else in North Alabama) had quite the surprise on Monday morning when snow started falling. We were already delayed due to the overnight storms, but the snow brought in some extra excitement. Thank you parents for your patience and flexibility in making adjustments to the schedule.
PD and a Little Sunshine
While everyone at school was looking at the surprise snow, Mr. and Mrs. Yearwood were working remotely from the ACEA Pastor and Administrators conference to make school dismissal decisions. The view there, although still very cold, was a bit different than the snow at school! At the conference they received some valuable legislative updates on school-choice, as well as some encouraging messages on why we do what we do.
Missionary Biographies
Mrs. Freeman's 2nd grade class worked on a project to study more about missionaries. In honor of St. Patrick's day the students read and traced the work of missionaries like Amy Carmichael and Lottie Moon.
St. Patrick's Day Green
Students enjoyed the chance to add an extra color to their uniforms on Tuesday. In honor of St. Patrick's day green accessories were a fun addition to the day.

Upper School SEW and Serve Day
We are so excited to spend this year’s SEW (Spiritual Emphasis Week) Serve Day volunteering at The Lovelady Center! The Lovelady Center works to help women and their children rebuild their lives both spiritually and physically. Through their services of providing food, shelter, and clothing, this ministry has a large impact for the Kingdom.
Upper school students (7th-12th) will be serving at The Lovelady Thrift Stores in Irondale and in Clay on Wednesday, March 25th. Any upper school student who has not turned in his/her permission form should do so first thing Monday morning, March 23rd.
This year’s study for SEW: students and staff will be learning more about how to spend time growing their relationship with God while maintaining a busy schedule. The Pause is a 4-part study that will include teaching and small group discussions.
Our schedule for the week will include shortened academic classes, 4 days of content, and 1 serve day. Attendance at morning and afternoon sessions is expected for all students. Please try to avoid appointments and unnecessary absences or check-outs.
Schedule details have been emailed to parents and are posted in the Grade Level Google Classrooms.
Spring Mission Fundraiser
Our fundraiser is well on its way and we want to be sure you know all the ways you can help.
SELL Tickets
The main event of this fundraiser is the Drawdown/ Benefit Night on April 30th at the Loft 212. Tickets are on sale now and include admission to the event, a meal, and one entry into the drawdown. The event will be a night of fun including an auction of items donated by local businesses and end with the main event of the $10,000 drawdown.

Ticket numbers will be assigned closer to the event.
Secure CORPORATE Sponsors

PRIZES
Fundraisers are always more fun when prizes are involved and this fundraiser will be no different. This week your student will receive a Fundraising Card. This card will work like a Bingo card and families can earn prizes based on how many lines they fill or if they fill the whole card. Cards will be due by April 20th. Questions about the card can be directed to candase.wilkins@cullmanchristian.com.
What if I missed the original email? What are we fundraising for?
We have had so many exciting things happening recently at CCS and this announcement will be no different. As many of you know with growth and progress comes the need for additional financial support. In an effort to fundraise but not over ask we are launching a joint effort for the first time to help support several areas of the school that are in need.
This year we have kicked off our Athletic Booster Club and embarked on an expansion at the Beech Ave Campus. Both of these projects directly support our students by helping strengthen our programs, expand our school, and continue building a thriving community for our families.
Fundraising with our Purpose and Mission
At CCS our purpose is to further the kingdom of God by preparing students to impact the world. We feel one way to do that is by supporting missions both close to home and internationally. With our purpose in mind, we will not keep all of the funds raised for ourselves but will tithe a portion back. We are partnering with ONE30 and a mission group that will be making a trip to Uganda this summer. The group will include several students from CCS; their family will be assisting missionaries to educate local families about hygiene and healthy lifestyles. They will be taking hygiene products to distribute and CCS will be helping to purchase some of these items as well as give a donation to ONE30.
Every donation and ticket sold helps invest directly into our athletics, classrooms, and future growth. This fundraiser is a meaningful way for families to partner with the school and model generosity, service, and community involvement for our children. Thank you for your continued support and for helping make this fundraiser a success.

CHOOSE Act Funds for 2026-27
There are two application dates for the 2026-2027 academic year – one for renewing family applications and one for new family applications.
- A renewing family application pertains to a family with participating student(s) that received a CHOOSE Act ESA digital wallet for the 2025-2026 academic year. These families can renew current participating students and add siblings of participating students starting December 15, 2025, through the application deadline of March 31, 2026. A renewing family must renew. It is not an automatic renewal.
- A new family application pertains to a family that has not previously applied for CHOOSE Act Alabama; or a family applicant that applied for the 2025-2026 academic year but was either not awarded, or did not complete the award affidavit in ClassWallet. These families can apply starting on January 2, 2026, through the application deadline of March 31, 2026.
