๐ Thomond Primary School Turns 10๐
This September, Thomond Primary School proudly marked a major milestone; 10 years of learning, growing, and thriving together in Ballynanty!
Since our founding in 2015, following the amalgamation of St Munchinโs Boys, St Munchinโs Girls, and St Leliaโs Infant School, Thomond has blossomed into a vibrant, inclusive school community full of creativity, kindness, and connection.
To celebrate, we held a joyful school-wide event filled with:
- Songs and smiles including a heartwarming performance of This Little Light of Mine and a rousing โHappy Birthdayโ from our pupils.
- Special guests including friends from the Family Resource Centre and the School Completion Programme, who have supported us every step of the way.
- Memories and milestones as we looked back on our journey and forward to the exciting years ahead.
Our celebrations were featured in the local media:
Weโre so proud of our students, staff, and families, past and present, who make Thomond the heart of our community. Hereโs to the next 10 years of magic, milestones, and memories! ๐ซ
Thank you to everyone who helped make our 10-year celebration such a memorable day!

๐ถ TPS Choir News ๐ถ
๐ถ TPS Choir Hits the Right Notes! ๐ถ
The TPS school choir has been busy spreading joy through song at two fantastic events.
First up was our 10-Year Celebration, where the choir helped set the tone for a day full of memories and community spirit. Their performance was full of energy and heart, and it was lovely to see so many smiling faces in the audience. It was a proud moment for everyone involved!
More recently, the choir travelled to Milford National School to take part in the Canadh le Chรฉile event. This was a wonderful gathering of school choirs, and our pupils did us proud once again. They sang with confidence and had a great time meeting other young singers from near and far.
A big thank you to all the children and Sarah Daly who make the choir such a special part of school life. ๐ต

Attendance Matters at Thomond Primary School! ๐
As always, weโre working hard to improve our attendance a little more each year and weโre off to a great start!
At our September Assembly, we celebrated loads of Top Attenders ๐ and handed out class pizza parties ๐ to the winning classes. A big shout-out to Trรญonaโs Junior Infants, Aislingโs 6th, and Sallyanneโs 3rd who topped the charts last month! ๐
Weโre already looking forward to seeing who will take the crown after Midterm! ๐
This year, weโre also supporting the governmentโs new campaign:
โEvery Day is a New Dayโ ๐
This initiative reminds us that every school day counts and every day is a fresh start. Whether itโs Monday or Friday, the most important thing is showing up and giving it your best. Letโs keep encouraging our pupils to be here, ready to learn, and ready to shine! โจ
๐ฝ๏ธ Cooking Up Confidence with Tesco! ๐ฉโ๐ณ
Weโre thrilled to be part of the Tesco Stronger Starts Cooks Programme, which gives children the chance to explore healthy eating and build confidence in the kitchen.
Pupils have been busy chopping, mixing, and tasting their way through fun, hands-on cooking sessions. From learning about nutritious ingredients to trying out simple recipes, itโs been a brilliant way to spark curiosity and independence with some very tasty results!
A big thank you to Tesco for supporting this initiative and helping our young cooks discover the joy of preparing food together. ๐ฅ๐๐

One of the highlights was seeing our 1st and 3rd class buddies ๐ค team up to dive into the world of Shape and Space ๐บ๐ท. Using magnetic tiles ๐งฒ, they worked together to design and build imaginative structures which included castles ๐ฐ, towers ๐ผ, and even rocket ships ๐! The children explored the castle grounds, learned fascinating stories from the past, and even got to meet the giant Con Mรณr! Thankfully, he was a friendly one โบ๏ธ and made the experience even more magical.

Our Junior Infants have settled in so well to life at Thomond Primary School! From the very first day, theyโve brought smiles, curiosity, and lots of energy to our school community.

Junior Infants have also paired up with their Buddy Class, 5th Class, and loved working with them during Maths Week and this week they tried to figure out who the Mystery Reader was! ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ
And what a special moment for our school on Wednesday at our Junior Infant Fรกilte Ceremony ๐ถ๐. It was a heartwarming celebration full of smiles, songs, and proud families.
