HAPPENING THIS WEEK AT GRISSOM
MR. HAUSER’S WEEKLY UPDATE
GRISSOM FAMILIES-WE NEED YOUR HELP
We’ve seen an increase in students having food delivered to school through DoorDash, Uber Eats, restaurants, and other delivery services. As a reminder, outside food deliveries for students are not permitted during the school day, and our office will not be able to accept or distribute these orders.
The good news? Every Grissom student can receive school lunch each day FREE of charge! Students are also always welcome to bring lunch from home.
We appreciate your help reinforcing this with your student. Limiting outside deliveries helps us keep our entrances secure, reduce disruptions, and keep our office staff focused on supporting students.
Thanks, Grissom families, for your understanding and partnership!

GRIZZLY LEGEND OF THE WEEK
GRIZZLY LEGEND OF THE WEEK!
It's Friday, and that means it's time to recognize another student who is doing the little things that make Grissom a better place!
This week's Grizzly Legend of the Week is… MARYAM K.!
Maryam was nominated by Mrs. Elvisa Ejubovic, who shared that Maryam is a natural leader and an incredible role model in her classroom.
Every day, Maryam comes to class with a smile, ready to learn and give her best. She works hard, participates in discussions, and isn't afraid to share her ideas. Her work is so thoughtful and well done that Mrs. Ejubovic often uses it as an example for other students!
But what really makes Maryam stand out is how she treats the people around her. She's kind, respectful, supportive, and always willing to lend a helping hand. She does the right thing without needing to be reminded, and she helps make her classroom a better place for everyone.
That's what Grizzly PRIDE is all about!
Maryam, being a leader isn't always about being the loudest person in the room. Sometimes it's about quietly setting the example and making the people around you better. And that's exactly what you're doing!
Congratulations, Maryam K. — our Grizzly Legend of the Week!
Keep being a leader, Maryam!

GETTING TO KNOW A GRIZZLY
🐻 NEW THIS YEAR: GETTING TO KNOW A GRIZZLY!
We have some pretty incredible people who make Grissom a special place, and we want our Grizzly community to get to know them a little better!
Each week, we’ll sit down with a different member of the Grissom staff for a few questions, some rapid fire, and hopefully a few laughs along the way.
Who should we sit down with next? 👀

GRIZZLY KICKS OF THE WEEK
Another week, another student making sure Mr. Hauser’s shoe game is on point!
This week, Faith and Mr. Hauser were rocking the black and red Jordans!
Faith came ready with the kicks, and Mr. Hauser just happened to have the perfect pair to match!
We love that something as simple as a pair of shoes can create these fun moments with our students. It’s the little things that make Grissom special!
Who’s stepping up next week?

SPORTS PHYSICALS
As we get ready for our fall athletic season, we want to remind families of an important requirement for any student planning to participate in a sport.
Any student attending a tryout or practice MUST have a current physical on file AND uploaded to Final Forms before they can participate.
This includes students participating in football and volleyball tryouts and practices.
Physical forms, along with directions for completing Final Forms, are available in the Grissom main office.
Families can also access Final Forms directly here:
https://warrenconsolidated-mi.finalforms.com/
Please make sure all required information is completed before your student attends a tryout or practice. Students who do not have the required physical and Final Forms information completed will not be able to participate.
Thank you for helping us make sure our student-athletes are ready to go. We’re looking forward to a great year of Grizzly Athletics!

E Scooter/E Bike Regulations
With the increased use of e-bikes and electric scooters by students, we want to ensure that students and families have clear information regarding applicable laws and expectations for their use on school property. The attached flyer is intended to provide consistent guidance across the district and can be shared with your school community.

ATTENDANCE
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Did you know that missing just two days of school a month adds up to nearly 20 days in a year? That’s a full month of lost learning! At Grissom Middle School, we believe every day matters. When students are present, they not only keep up academically, but also build friendships, confidence, and strong routines that set them up for future success.
Attendance is a priority this year at GMS, and we want to reduce the number of absences students have. Please see the flyer below for ways you can help support your child’s attendance. If you or your child run into any barriers to regular attendance, please reach out to the main office so we can work together to find solutions.
GMS BOOSTER CLUB
📣 Calling All Parents – We Need You!
Our Grissom Boosters are a huge part of what makes our school community special—but they can’t do it without parent support.
We’re looking for parents to join the Boosters and help chaperone at Booster-sponsored events. These activities make lasting memories for our students, but they only happen if we have volunteers.
FROM OUR GMS COUNSELING DEPARTMENT
With the start of the school year we encourage all parents to actively use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to stay informed about their child’s academic progress throughout the year. (You’ll find the link below.)
If there’s anything you’d like us to know to better support your child—whether it’s their learning style, any challenges they face, or other important details—please don’t hesitate to reach out to their counselor.
By working together, we can make this school year a strong and successful one for every Grizzly!
