Principal's Message Principal's Message

NISL Soccer Teams Off to an Undefeated Start!

Dear NISL Families,

We are excited to share wonderful news about our NISL Soccer Program!

Our NISL soccer teams have joined the YMCA Youth Soccer League this season. Through this partnership, our students are able to officially compete with other YMCA soccer teams and gain valuable opportunities to build teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and physical fitness while representing NISL in the wider community.

This season, we have two NISL teams practicing once a week at NISL and then competing against different YMCA teams:

  • Honeybees (U7 Coed Team): PreK–1st Grade, practicing on Tuesdays
  • Bumblebees (U9 Boys Team): 2nd–3rd Grade, practicing on Thursdays

The first game of the season against other YMCA teams was on March 28 and the second was April 3rd. We are so proud to share that both teams have won both games!

Our next game is this Saturday, April 18th at the Southeast YMCA branch! All families are welcome to join to watch and show support to our bees!

Our students have shown strong teamwork, determination, and excellent sportsmanship on the field. Check out the schedule of all of our games and join us!

We would like to give special recognition to Coach Nouna, who coaches our teams with dedication and enthusiasm each week and who coordinated this partnership with the YMCA. We are also incredibly grateful to the many parents who have been attending games and stepping in to help and support the teams. Your involvement has made a big difference for our students and you are helping NISL shine in the wider community!

We are so proud of our young athletes and the positive spirit they bring to the field. Programs like this help our students grow not only in athletic skills but also in confidence, teamwork, and character.

We encourage families to come out this weekend and cheer on our Honeybees and Bumblebees!

Go Honeybees! Go Bumblebees!

Important Reminder: Attendance Matters – Only 25 Days Left!

As we enter the final stretch of the school year with only 25 school days remaining, we kindly urge all parents to make sure their children attend school every single day, insha’Allah.

The month of May is packed with critical end-of-year screeners, assessments, and standardized testing. These evaluations help us measure student growth, guide future instruction, inform student placement for next year's courses, and fulfill academic requirements. In addition, students are looking forward to special end-of-year activities that are best enjoyed with full class participation.

Please Note: There will be no early testing or make-up opportunities for standardized tests and assessments that are missed due to travel.
To ensure your child does not miss important assessments, please schedule all appointments outside of school hours and carefully review the monthly calendars sent home and posted online.
