Lincoln Family BlogJune 4, 2023

Every child. Every day. Every child. Every day.

This week we welcomed graduating seniors back to Lincoln. This tradition is always sentimental for our seniors and any staff members that had those students in elementary school. It is also a reminder that time passes quickly. In the blink of an eye, our graduating 5th graders will be the next to walk the hallways.

As we wrap up our year, our entire Lincoln Staff would like to extend a heartfelt message of thank you to all of our Lincoln Families. We appreciate your partnership during this educational journey your students are on. We count on you, and we know you count on us. Together, that creates a warm, nurturing, and supportive environment for our students. From Laps to Lincoln in the fall to our end-of-the-year field day in the spring (and EVERYTHING in between), we appreciate our families and the ongoing support that is always there for us.

Remember, Lincoln School will be shut down for the summer. We will return to newly carpeted classrooms, new LED lighting, and AIR CONDITIONING!!! Teacher letters, along with all of the important information regarding the ice cream social and dates for the year, will arrive at your home shortly after August 11, 2023.

As we close out the year, we are already looking forward to next year! Planning has started, and we look forward to many fun events for the 23-24 school year. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy a restful and relaxing summer!

Please notify the office if your family will be moving next year. This will help us ensure class lists are balanced for next year without last minute changes. 5th Grade Breakfast--Students Only

The traditional 5th-grade breakfast will be on Thursday, June 8th, and begins at 9:00. Please look to your teacher's blog for specific information about the event. This is a special event for students (only) to share some time with each other and is not open to parents/families. All food is pre-ordered, and extra servings are not available. Traditionally, students like to dress up for this event. Picture day attire is the typical dress attire for the event, but not required.

Lincoln Bear Student Credit Union--May Winner--Ella Westerbeek

Congratulations to Ella Westerbeek the May winner of Lincoln Bear Student Credit Union, a student-led program affiliated with Honor Credit Union. Lincoln Bear Student Credit Union will open every Thursday from 8:15 – 8:35 am again in the fall and offers students great incentives to promote regular savings habits to Start Small and Save Big! To help kick start those habits, all new members will receive $15 if they open their new membership with at least $1! To open an account for the student(s) in your life, membership forms can be downloaded here or picked up in the school office. All existing members will receive $5 for making their first deposit at Lincoln Bear SCU. To encourage establishing a regular savings habit, there is a prize box where students can choose a prize with every deposit they make. All deposits are entered into a monthly drawing to win a gift basket with a $10 gift card. And for a grand prize, every deposit is also entered into the annual drawing for either an iPad Mini or a $250 deposit into their savings account at the end of the year! So, the more deposits made, the more chances to win! To learn more about Honor CU’s Student Credit Union program, click here.

SUMMER LEARNING CHALLENGE

Our Lincoln students have worked hard all year to gain new skills. They have become better readers, better writers, and better mathematicians. Let's not throw away that hard work--join our summer learning challenge! This is a great way to have fun AND maintain the skills that were gained over the school year.

Complete a few or complete a LOT--anything will work! If the form is returned to school in the fall, your student can join in a celebration. Paper copies of the Summer Learning Challenge will come home with your student(s) on Wednesday. Be sure to get them out of backpacks!

Get your copy of The Summer Learning Challenge Here if you need an extra copy!
