Land Acknowledgment
We acknowledge that we gather here today on the traditional lands of the Dena'ina People of Upper Cook Inlet. For thousands of years, the Dena'ina People have been and continue to be the stewards of this land. ASD is committed to diversity and inclusion, and it is with honor and respect that we recognize all Indigenous people who live and learn in our community.
Parent/Techer Conferences - 10/28 and 10/29
We're thrilled to see our families this week as we host Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 28 and Thursday, October 28. Students are released at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Students will be riding the bus home both days and arrive as they do at our regularly scheduled time. Students will exit the bus at 11:40 or 11:50 a.m. if they typically exit the bus at 2:40 or 2:50 p.m. Students do not have school on Friday, October 30. Parent/Guardian pick up is the same, please arrive at school at 11:30 a.m. to bring your child home. If you haven't signed up for a conference, please do so using the ASD Conference Scheduler. Select Spring Hill and your child's grade and teacher. If your child is in a combination classroom, you'll want to select Mix as the grade level. If you need help, please call the office at 907-742-5450; we're happy to help.
A Note From Your Principals
Thank you for an incredibly successful Jog-A-Thon; our families raised $3,500.00 for school-wide events and activities! We are so grateful to all of the individuals who made donations to Spring Hill. The students had a great time running/jogging/walking around the building as many times as they could within an hour. Our otters braved some colder temperatures and a little rain with positive attitudes. This year, we had official running bibs donated from Healthy Futures with each lap marked off by our staff. Music, bubbles, pompoms and parent/guardians cheering on our students made the event even more fabulous!
When dropping off your children, please drive into the parent pick-up/drop off lane in the main parking lot. The bus loop closest to the front entrance is for our buses only. We have Pre-K buses that come in during the day to pick-up our 3 and 4 year old students, as well as buses for field trips. Thank you for parking in the main parking lot or puling up to the parking lot sidewalk for drop-off after the bell rings.
This is the time of year, when the weather significantly changes. Please encourage your children to come to school prepared with warm winter gear. Recess is 30 minutes each day and we want to ensure they are warm while playing. If your child is missing a jacket, hoodie or sweater, please visit our Lost & Found located on the opposite side of the gym when you come in for conferences to see if you can bring any of your child's lost items home.
With gratitude,
Principal LoSordo-Santo
