Upcoming Changes to the Schedule
For your planning purposes, here are upcoming changes to the regular schedule, including days off and early dismissal.
ATTENDANCE
Every day counts and every minute matters
Regular school attendance is connected to higher academic achievement, stronger bonds to the school and community, lower rates of delinquent and high-risk behavior, and increased participation in higher education.
When families support daily attendance, students do better in school and beyond.
Help your student by:
Arriving at school on time
Planning vacations during non-school days and summer break
Scheduling doctor appointments after school hours
Bringing the student to school before or after appointments scheduled during school hours
Only allowing a student to stay home when too sick or has a contagious illness
Calling the school when your student is absent
Northridge year-to-date attendance: 93.32%
COUNSELING NEWS
This month in grades K-5 we are talking about Responsibility. One way to define Responsibility is “taking action and understanding the impact of our choices.” Taking action can mean doing the right thing or completing the tasks you have been assigned. Understanding the impact of our choices means that our actions matter. Positive and responsible actions can help people, and irresponsible actions can hurt others. Next week, lessons will begin in our TK and 6th grade classes as well!
Please see the image/attachment to continue the conversation and learning around Responsibility at home.
If you'd like to contact Ms. Luttrell, please e-mail her at rosalie.luttrell@sanjuan.edu
DROP OFF AND PICK UP
Drop off begins at 8:25 a.m. when the MP Room opens for breakfast, as there is no supervision before then. Please do not drop your children off before 8:25 a.m. All gates will be opened at 8:40 a.m. when morning walk begins, so students may enter at the front or back of the school.
Please pick your child(ren) up within 10 minutes of dismissal.
TK & Kindergarten students should be picked up right at dismissal at 12:55 p.m.

Mrs. Soto or Mrs. Conli get the honor of speaking with students about their achievements and students get to choose a Smencil. All students have their photos taken, which hang in the office for a week. Yay for our wonderful students who positively contribute to our school community!
