Week 33
Dear MUMS community,
We started our week off with a wonderful brunch, sponsored by our incredible community and that nourishment helped so much this week. Thank you to everyone that helped make this happen!
Following the brunch this week, we hosted our rising 6th grade caregiver night which is always such an exciting way to launch our growing learning community. If you or someone you know wasn't able to attend on Wednesday night, the power point presentation is linked below and we are here to answer any questions folks might have.
Lastly, yesterday our 7th graders visited Town Hall Theater as part of their work with "courageous stage" around Shakespeare. Thanks to those chaperones and organizers for making the field trip and experience come alive for our students.
We hope that you have a safe and joy filled long weekend and we will look forward to welcoming our students back on Tuesday morning.
Best,
Michaela Wisell ~ Principal

Greetings MUMS Caregivers!
If May has felt like a bit of a whirlwind, you are not alone! Our May here at MUMS has been very full of experiences and energy! Last week, our 8th graders went over to MUHS to participate in a science fair with high school students. MUHS students delivered presentations and hands-on lessons about food science, endangered species, invasive species, dissecting flowers, honey bees, soil science, and even visited the MUHS greenhouse. It was a wonderful moment of sharing and learning between our high school community and soon to be high schoolers! Special thanks to Steve Colangeli for hosting our students for a day of hands-on learning and science exploration. As we approach the end of the year, the 8th graders will have more chances to explore and connect with MUHS, keep your eyes on the newsletters for details!
💡Talk to your student: Take a moment to reflect on this academic year. Where did they experience growth and learning? What are they looking forward to next year?
Step Up Day, May 28th
On Thursday, May 28th, MUMS will welcome incoming 6th graders from 9-11 a.m. and our outgoing 8th graders will visit MUHS at the same time. MUMS 8th graders will be walking in small groups from MUMS to MUHS for the morning. Please remind your student to wear comfortable footwear and bring a water bottle!
Information about the 8th grade trip
Please check in with your 8th grader if you haven't already and reach out to Dustin Hunt with any questions. (802)382-1213 or dhunt@acsdvt.org

Student Absences, Dismissals + Bus Notes
If your student will be absent from school, needs an early dismissal, or will take a different bus, please follow these directions:
- Absence / early dismissal: Call 802-382-1297, the MUMS attendance line, before 8:30am (helpful tip: add this number to your phone now as "MUMS attendance line")
- Early dismissal + bus notes: Students must deliver a caregiver's note to the front office when arriving at school (before TA).
- If taking a bus other than their regular bus: Students must bring a caregiver's note and have it signed by a MUMS Administrative Assistant in the front office to be valid.
Shoreham/Cornwall bus caveats
Please use the "button" above to preview our ACSD bus routes.
Also please note a few caveats that impact students who ride Cornwall or Shoreham buses home.
Cornwall and Shoreham buses do not come to MUMS at pick-up time. Students who ride those buses must take a shuttle from MUMS to MUHS to meet their bus.
Cornwall students use the Bridport bus as their MUMS-MUHS shuttle and get on the Cornwall bus at the High school to ride home.
Shoreham students use the Weybridge bus as their MUMS-MUHS shuttle and get on the Shoreham bus at the High school to ride home.
