Welcome Back, Bearcat Families!
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! Whether you are returning to Montgomery Elementary or joining our Bearcat family for the very first time, we are excited to welcome you to what promises to be an incredible year of learning, growth, and success.
This year's school theme is Rooted in Kindness, Growing in Excellence. We believe that kindness is the foundation for everything we do. When students feel valued, respected, and connected, they are able to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Just as strong roots help a tree weather every season, acts of kindness create a school community where every child can flourish. Together, we will challenge our students to show compassion, encourage one another, work hard, and strive for excellence in all they do.
One of our greatest priorities this year is strengthening the partnership between school and home. Research consistently shows that students are most successful when families and teachers work together as a team. Our teachers bring expertise, dedication, and a passion for helping every child succeed. Families bring invaluable knowledge of their children and provide encouragement that extends learning beyond the classroom. When we communicate openly, support one another, and work toward shared goals, amazing things happen for our students.
We encourage you to stay connected throughout the year by attending school events, reading classroom and campus communications, participating in conferences, and reaching out whenever you have questions or concerns. Building strong relationships with your child's teacher is one of the best investments you can make in your child's education.
As we begin this new school year, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every student feels they belong and every family feels valued. We look forward to celebrating successes, overcoming challenges together, and watching our Bearcats grow in confidence, character, and achievement.
Thank you for trusting us with your children each day. We are honored to partner with you and cannot wait to see all that we will accomplish together.
Here's to a wonderful school year as we remain Rooted in Kindness, Growing in Excellence!

Introducing our new Assistant Principal
Hello Montgomery Elementary families!
My name is Brittany Huggins, and I am honored to join the Montgomery Elementary family as your new and second Assistant Principal. I am excited to meet our students and families and look forward to partnering with you to make this a successful and memorable school year.
I bring more than 15 years of experience in education, having served as a classroom teacher, behavior coach, and instructional coach. Throughout my career, I have been committed to building meaningful relationships, supporting student success, and working collaboratively with staff and families to create a positive learning environment where every child can thrive. I am excited to work alongside Mr. Ingalls and Mrs. Campbell, as we support the students, staff, and families of Montgomery Elementary.
Outside of school, I have been happily married for 13 years, and my husband and I are the proud parents of four wonderful children, ages 11, 9, 6, and 5. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors and cheering on our favorite college sports teams.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of the MES family and look forward to getting to know each of you. Together, I know we will make this an incredible year for our students.
Transportation Change
Car Rider Dismissal System
The primary guardian on each students file will receive an email from Control Point with steps to set up your Control Point account for car rider. As a reminder, this process must be completed each year. If you need help or have questions, Mrs. Prim.
Afternoon Dismissal Procedures:
Car riders will be picked up at the back of the building. Please remain in your car and wait for a school employee to direct your child to your vehicle. Please do not motion for your child to come to you. For your child’s safety, children must get into the car on the curbside indicated by the position of our staff.
Barcodes assigned by the dismissal program used must be provided to the staff member scanning upon entering the car rider line. This barcode ensures that we are placing each child in the car of the person authorized to pick him/her up from school and will help to speed up the car rider line. If you do not have a barcode, please obtain one before entering the car rider line. Children will not be placed in a car without one. If you do not have a barcode, you will be asked to go to the front office. Please make every effort to have your child’s barcode each day.
Before pulling away, we want to make sure that every child is buckled in a seat belt. We want everyone to have a safe ride home. For efficiency, should your child need help securing him/herself into a safety seat, please exit the car rider line and make your way to a parking spot to assist your child.
