Greetings,

We have reached an exciting milestone as Semester 1 and Marking Period 2 concluded today. To celebrate, students and staff came together for a spirited pep rally! It was wonderful to see this engaging tradition continue at Springton Lake. The energy was high, the laughter was contagious, and the musical chairs competition proved to be far more competitive than expected—as I was quickly eliminated. In a surprising turn of events, students emerged victorious over staff and administration in this fun-filled challenge.

Please note that Monday, January 26, marks the beginning of Marking Period 3 and the start of Semester 2. Most students will begin new classes, so families are encouraged to check HAC for their teacher assignments. In the event of inclement weather, a Flexible Instruction Day (FID) will require students will login to Schoology for attendance and classes. Report cards will be available for viewing in HAC on Friday, January 30.

Included in this mailing is additional information and a video highlighting our MLK Day of Service, along with details about the donations being delivered throughout the region. We are proud of our students’ commitment to service and community.

We are also excited to host our annual Winter Semi-Formal this evening. This event provides a wonderful social opportunity for our 7th and 8th graders to enjoy time together in a safe and celebratory environment.

Wishing you a safe weekend as we weather the storm.

Sincerely,

Ryan Buterbaugh

To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.

Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
