Weymouth Early Childhood Center

June 7, 2026

Good Morning,

On Friday, we were excited to welcome members of the Weymouth Fire Department to our preschool for a special fire safety presentation. Our students learned important lessons about staying safe in an emergency, including the purpose of smoke detectors, how they work, what they sound like, and when and how to call 911.

Firefighters taught the children the important safety message: "Get low and get out" if there is smoke in their home. Students had the opportunity to practice these skills firsthand in the WFD’s Safe House, where they learned how to safely respond during a fire emergency in a realistic, child-friendly environment.

The students did a great job listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and enthusiastically practicing their fire safety skills. A special Thank You to the Weymouth Fire Department for providing this valuable and engaging learning experience for our students!
