Teaching Kids About Boundaries - Child Mind Institute

For most parents setting boundaries for young kids' behavior is second nature: No hitting. Don't interrupt. We don't grab toys out of other kids' hands. But as they get older, and social interaction gets more complex, it's not enough to just learn the rules.

When Should You Get Your Kid a Phone? - Child Mind Institute

Media Guidelines for Kids of All Ages - Child Mind Institute

Parents used to just worry about kids watching too much TV, or playing too many video games. We still worry about those things, but now the screen time list has gotten much longer. Phones, tablets, apps, social media, texting - they all can captivate kids (and adults) starting at a very young age.

Sensory Bottles: DIY Sensory Tool

Sensory bottles are not only a fun activity to keep the kids busy, but also serve a purpose afterward! Sensory bottles are a great tool to utilize when calming your body. It gives children something to focus on while they take deep breaths. Some bottles have glitter that you can watch settle to the bottom, while others are more interactive (like the magnetic paperclip bottle shown in this picture!)

Anxious Stomach Aches and Headaches - Child Mind Institute

All kids get an occasional headache or stomach ache - think not enough sleep or too much Halloween candy. But when children get them often, they may be signs of anxiety. Stomach aches in the morning before school. Headaches when there's a math test on the schedule. Butterflies before a birthday party.
