Dear Titan Families,

In Lorain City Schools, we’ve always believed that every child deserves to start the school year fully equipped and fully supported. For the past several years, we’ve proudly provided school supplies for all students, from preschool through high school. This commitment has been one way we show our love for this community—meeting families where they are and making sure students have what they need to succeed.

That’s why it’s especially difficult to share this update.

Due to current funding limitations, we are no longer able to provide school supplies for all students in grades PK–12 in the same way we have in recent years. This change doesn’t sit easy with us. We know how helpful this support has been, and this decision was not made lightly. But, like always, we’re going to face this challenge the way Lorain knows how—with compassion, resourcefulness, and community.

What You Need to Know:

  • Each school’s supply list is now available on our district website.

  • We’ll share information about community supply giveaways as soon as we receive it.

  • If your family needs support, please reach out to your school principal. They are your first point of contact.

  • Ohio's expanded sales tax holiday runs from August 1 at 12:00 a.m. through August 14 at 11:59 p.m. This is a good time to make purchases as many items will be tax-free.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: you’re not in this alone. Lorain is strong because we take care of each other. This year will be no different.
