TOGETHER FOR WILDCAT SUCCESS
Welcome Back, Wildcats! Let's Make Q2 a Great One!
Dear Wunderlich Families,
I hope you had a restful fall break and are ready for a strong start to the second quarter. Homecoming brings excitement and school spirit, and we look forward to celebrating while keeping our focus on quality instruction and student learning.
Attendance plays a big part in that success! Our goal is 95% or higher for every grade level, and we encourage some friendly competition as we work toward it together. Thank you, families, for helping students arrive on time, ready to learn, and prepared to make every day count. Let’s make Q2 a great one!

☕🐾 LATTES WITH LATHAN
☕🐾 Lattes with Lathan Was a Success !
Thank you to our families and community members who joined us! Families toured the campus with Mr. Lathan, asked questions, and connected with our team.
We celebrated our B-rated campus and discussed our goals of achieving an A rating, reaching 95% attendance, and strengthening student belonging through enrichment. Families also received QSE updates for grades 6–8, information about Title I and our School Policy and Compact, and guidance on Skyward, tutorials, lunch applications, and parent–teacher conferences. Mrs. Wences shared a Parent University presentation on why attendance matters.
Thank you to Mr. Lathan, Mrs. Cavazos, and Mrs. Wences for supporting these conversations—and to our families for your participation and partnership. Together, we help our Wildcats thrive!
🌟STUDENTS OF THE MONTH !
CONGRATULATIONS!
Each month, staff members nominate students who consistently demonstrate our C.A.T.S. values: Character, Accountability, Teamwork, and Success. These students lead by example through their positive choices, respectful behavior, academic effort, and support of others. We are proud to recognize their accomplishments and celebrate the positive impact they make on our Wunderlich community!
🍎 TEACHER OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to our October Teacher of the Month, Ms. Katelyn Dover! Our 7th-grade math teacher inspires students to grow, build confidence, and embrace learning. Her dedication leaves a lasting impact—former students continue to seek her support long after leaving her classroom. Thank you, Ms. Dover, for Operating in Excellence!
WILDCATS HOMECOMING UPDATES
What a Homecoming celebration, Wildcats! 🐾🏈 Shout-out to our 7th Grade A and B Teams and their coaches for bringing home wins against Klein Intermediate! The crowd was full of excitement as students cheered on their fellow Wildcats, showing off beautiful mums and plenty of school spirit.
⏰ ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Every day matters. Every minute counts.
Attendance is vital to student success. When students are not at school, they miss important instruction and learning opportunities.
Car riders should arrive before 8:45 a.m. so students have enough time to enter the building and be seated when class begins at 8:50 a.m.
CHECK OUR SCHOLARS' GRADES
Families are encouraged to check their scholar’s grades regularly. Staying informed allows you to celebrate progress and address concerns early.
If you have questions about an assignment or grade, please contact your student’s teacher.
Check the grades. Start the conversation. Ask for support early.
👕 DRESS FOR SUCCESS
Please continue helping your scholar follow the district and campus dress code each day.
Students should arrive dressed appropriately and ready to learn. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and focused learning environment.
🍎 MEAL APPLICATION REMINDER
Please complete the Socioeconomic Information Form or Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application by September 24, 2026. Only one application is needed per household. Completing the form helps determine meal eligibility and provides important funding for student services and campus programs.
The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, which previously allowed all students at Wunderlich Intermediate to receive free meals, has ended for the 2026–2027 school year. Families who wish to continue receiving free or reduced-price meals must complete a Meal Benefits Application.
For more information about the CEP update, please visit: www.kisd.us/cep
Families can apply for meal benefits online at:
www.kisd.us/schoolcafe or through the SchoolCafe App.
Thank you for your attention to this important information.
🚗 FAMILY AND VISITOR PARKING
To help keep our campus parking organized and ensure staff have access to their assigned spaces, we kindly ask all families and visitors to park only in spaces marked “VISITORS.”
Parking spaces with numbers are assigned to teachers and staff and should remain available for them throughout the school day.
Thank you for helping us keep arrival, dismissal, meetings, and campus visits running smoothly. We appreciate your cooperation and support!
📸 PICTURE MAKE - UP DAY ON NOVEMBER 2
📸 Students will take their school pictures on November 2nd.

📅 Date: November 2nd
😁 Reminder: Come ready to smile!
Say cheese, Wildcats! 📷🐾

🎉 Homecoming Dance — Friday, October 23
Our Homecoming Dance will take place Friday, October 23, during the school day.
Students will participate on an activity schedule that day. Additional information regarding ticket sales, student eligibility, and dance logistics will be shared as details are finalized.

📵 PHONES DOWN. MINDS ON.
We want our Wildcats present, connected, and focused on learning.
Students are not permitted to use:
📱 Cell phones
⌚ Smartwatches
🎧 Earbuds, AirPods, or headphones
📲 Other connected electronic devices
This expectation applies throughout the school day, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and the cafeteria.
All devices must be powered off and kept out of sight at all times.
❤️💙 Families, thank you for partnering with us to help students stay engaged in their learning and connected to the people around them.
👕 LOOK GOOD. FEEL GOOD. DO GREAT. DRESS FOR EXCELLENCE
At Wunderlich, we want our students to come to school feeling confident and ready to learn.
Students and staff are expected to dress in a way that reflects the high level of excellence we strive for as a learning community.
If a student arrives in clothing that does not meet dress code expectations, a parent/guardian may be contacted and asked to bring appropriate clothing for the student to change into.
Our goal is to prevent students from losing valuable instructional time.
⭐ WHEN IN DOUBT, DON'T WEAR IT!
We want every Wildcat to look good, feel good, and be ready to accomplish great things.
