Wildcats in Action Wildcats in Action

It was another great week at ACHS! I can't believe that we are already in November!

Our Girls Cross Country Team kicked off the week with an appearance at the 2A Regional Cross Country Meet! Runners, Emory Kincaid, Kamdyn Marin, Emry Veitenheimer, Jaleny Miranda, and Lana Coffman, represented Archer City XC at the Regional Meet for the first time in over 30 years! The team finished 20th overall and paved the way for future success in the program! A big shout out to the girls and Coach Kent Kyle for reestablishing our XC program!

Our High School Boys Football program took on the Haskell Indians this week in the 2nd to last games of the season. Only the Junior High and the Varsity were in action this week. Both teams fell to the Indians. The JH boys showed grit and toughness in their effort on Thursday! The boys will close out the season against Electra this coming week!

Our High School Volleyball program started their march in the UIL 2A Division 2 State Playoffs this week after an exciting warm-up game against Nocona on Monday Night! The girls took Nocona to 3 sets and lost 15-17 in the final set in their warm-up against State ranked Nocona! The Lady Cats ended the week with a decisive Bi-District Championship victory over Munday on Saturday!

Our JH and HS girls program are making their shift to basketball season! Athletes that have completed their volleyball seasons are practicing after school for what hopes to be a great basketball season!

JH One Act Play will be busy this week putting on their final touches to their upcoming performance of "The AI Play." Stay tuned for information on a public performance prior to competition!

Wildcat Rising: Together We Rise — The Little Things Make the Difference!

One of the things I have learned over the years is that success is rarely determined by one big moment, but rather by the small details we choose to focus on every single day. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic field, on the stage or in life, the difference between being average and being great often comes down to how well we take care of the little things.

Showing up prepared, paying attention to details, maintaining a positive attitude, and giving our best effort may not always seem like major accomplishments, but over time, those habits separate those who simply participate from those who find ways to win. It is also important to recognize that things will not always go our way. There will be difficult days, disappointing outcomes, and circumstances beyond our control. When those moments come, successful people learn to shift their focus away from what is going wrong and toward what they can do to make things better.

Instead of dwelling on setbacks, placing blame, or allowing negativity to take over, we must ask ourselves, "What can I control, what can I improve, and what can I do differently tomorrow?" That simple shift in mindset can make all the difference. As we continue through the school year, I want to challenge our Wildcats to take ownership of the details, stay focused on the things within their control, and understand that progress is built through consistent effort over time.

We may not win every moment, but we can make the decision to approach every moment with a winning mindset. When we each commit to doing the little things right, supporting one another through challenges, and getting a little better every day, we build a culture of excellence that extends far beyond our campus. Focus on the details. Control what you can control. Find a way to win the day.
