Finding our Groove!

Dear Families,

Two weeks down and our first full week ahead of us! We are settling in, finding our groove, and becoming more comfortable with our classroom routines each day. It has been wonderful to see the students getting to know one another, building friendships, and growing more confident in our classroom community.

As we head into our first full week, we are ready to jump into learning and continue building those important classroom habits. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement at home. I’m excited for all that this year has in store!

It's a great day to be a SHAMROCK!

Don't miss this...

  • ALL GRADE LEVELS - NWEA testing has started! We are ready to show what we have learned and do our best. Remember to take your time, read each question carefully, and stay focused. Good luck to everyone!

  • 🏈🏈FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS🏈🏈 As a reminder, it is the policy of the Berrien Springs Athletics Department that all middle school students attending JV or Varsity athletic events must be accompanied and supervised by a paying adult.

  • Middle school students receive free admission to these events, and we encourage them to come out and support our Shamrocks! We simply ask that they attend with a paying, supervising adult to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
  • 🏛️ NATIONAL HISTORY DAY

Interested in history, research, or creating something unique? National History Day is a great opportunity for students to dive into a topic connected to this year’s theme: Innovation.

Students can create an exhibit, documentary, performance, paper, or website. District and state competitions take place in the spring.

📅 Informational Meeting: Thursday, September 17
    📍 Mr. Hannon’s Room
    ⏰ After school until 3:30

Interested students should see Mr. Hannon with any questions.

College and Career Ready...yep, it starts NOW!

🔎 JMG SHOUTOUT: CAREER EXPLORATION STARTS NOW!

There’s a whole world of possibilities waiting for our students! 🚀

As part of 7th and 8th grade Integrated Studies, JMG gives students opportunities to explore careers, connect with local professionals, and start thinking about their interests and future goals.

Students begin exploring the many pathways available after high school, whether that means:

🎓 College
💼 Entering the workforce
🛠️ Career and technical opportunities
🇺🇸 Military

Middle schoolers don't need to have their futures figured out. JMG gives them the opportunity to start exploring what's possible! 🌎

We R.O.C.K.!

Students have the opportunity during the school day to earn U-Rocks for demonstrating exceptional behavior and making positive choices. U-Rocks are part of a digital system that awards points for our five schoolwide values: Respect, Ownership, Compassion, Knowledge, and Success.

Each student’s points are individually banked, allowing them to save their earnings and spend them on a variety of exciting prizes in our Rock Shop—think of it as a BSMS Amazon store! Students can work toward items and experiences that motivate them to continue showing our school values throughout the day.

Here are just a few of the prizes your child can work toward!
