Cornwall School News 12.18.25
Message from the Principal
We had two special events at Cornwall this week: Winter Crafts and the Big Book Giveaway. School rituals like these create a sense of belonging and purpose, and provide regular, predictable opportunities for students to shine. Routines like our daily morning meetings, gathering for All School Meeting, and the various call-and-responses - some silly and some serious - we use all help to ground students and provide opportunities for learning, but they’re also rituals. Special, once-a-year traditions also provide students with a common experience that create memories and reinforce our common community identity, year after year.
A huge thank you to our FOCS partners and all that volunteers that make Winter Crafts magical. You made it a very special day for our students!
In partnership,
Nadya

The Great Book Giveway
Following a tradition, in the library this week there was a huge selection of books for students to choose two for their home book shelf. Choices included high-quality new and used books. By the end of school next Tuesday, every student will have had an opportunity to choose books. It was lovely to see students tucked in a corner, pouring over the pages of their new books!
This will happen again at the end of the school year, with additional books provided by RIF (Reading is Fundamental) and Bonnie’s Books, a local literacy non-profit. If you have any questions, please contact Megan at msutton@acsdvt.org, and if you have any good quality books you’d like to donate for the spring give-away, please feel free to send them in. Thank you!
Winter Crafts
There is something so soothing about the soft lighting, piano music and quiet concentration of our students as they make their way around the room full of crafting stations. These pictures show students in the zone of concentration! Winter Crafts is simply lovely.
