Friday, October 2nd Friday, October 2nd

Dear Families,

Hello and happy Friday!

We made it through a full five day week!

The students were amazing as we juggled some staff absences and moving people around this week. A huge shout out to the SCS staff that always shows up ready to fill in as needed and do all the things that keep a small school running. I am so grateful for this team!

This Wednesday is our first Early Release Day of the year. All students will be dismissed at 1:00 PM. There will not be any Extended Day Program. Please communicate your child's plans with us by Wednesday morning.

Thank you for reading these updates and have a wonderful weekend,

Tracey

We had our first All School Meeting this week where students worked in multi-age groups to come up with examples of how we can meet our school wide expectations. Each group shared what it could look like to Be Kind, Be Responsible and Do Your Best.

We're happy to say there are no adjustments to the bus schedules or routes this week! (Well, except for the Early Release Day on Wednesday. ALL students are dismissed at 1:00 on that day)

Thank you for communicating your child's go-home plans clearly with their teacher and the main office. Please continue emailing Shelly Smith at msmith@acsdvt.org and Tracey Harrington at tharrington@acdvt.org when you have changes. And thank you for being patient with us as we try to juggle the many things students do at the end of the day.

Important Cybersecurity Update from ACSD Technology

This week, ACSD changed how district Google accounts share documents to better protect student and family information.

What this means for families:

  • Documents ACSD staff send you will usually come as an email attachment, such as a PDF, instead of a Google Docs link.

  • When you send something to ACSD staff, please attach the file to your email. Google Docs or Drive links shared from personal accounts may not open for staff.

  • If you can't open something from ACSD, let the staff member know and they'll send it another way.

Please also be careful with unexpected emails saying a document has been shared with you, especially if they ask you to sign in or verify your identity. This applies even when the email appears to come from someone you know. If you're unsure, check with the sender by phone or in a separate email.
