🚗 Dismissal Reminders
Let's Keep Things Moving Smoothly!
As we kick off another amazing school year, we want to thank you in advance for your patience with school zone traffic. The first few weeks are always a bit busy as everyone gets back into the routine, but working together will ensure a safe and efficient dismissal for all our students.
To help our carline move as quickly and safely as possible, please review the following crucial reminders:
- Arrive On Time, Not Early: Unless you have the 3:00pm pick up time, please arrive exactly at your assigned dismissal time. Arriving too early causes traffic to back up and prevents the previous grade levels from being picked up and clearing the line.
- Stay in Your Vehicle: For the safety of everyone and to keep the line moving, parents and guardians must remain inside their vehicles while in the carline at all times.
- Sibling Dismissal: Younger students will be dismissed to their oldest sibling's designated pickup location and time. Please note that this applies even if the oldest sibling is absent or staying after school for an activity or sport.
- Walk-Up Option: Families who wish to get out and walk up to pick up their students may park in the surrounding neighborhood. When doing so, please be respectful of our community by being mindful not to block driveways or disturb our neighbors.
🕒 Dismissal Times & Locations:
Kindergarten - 3:00pm - Front (Caley)
First Grade - 3:10pm - Back Lot (Dayton)
Second Grade - 3:15pm - Front (Caley)
Third Grade - 3:15pm - Back Lot (Dayton)
Fourth Grade - 3:15pm - Front (Caley)
Fifth and Sixth Grade - 3:25pm - Bottom of the Hill (Elmira)
Seventh Grade - 3:35pm - Back Lot (Dayton)
Eighth Grade - 3:35pm - Front (Caley)
Thank You for Your Support During Last Week's Controlled Release!
We want to send a huge thank you to all our CCA families for your patience, cooperation, and support during last week’s weather-related dismissal.
As a quick refresher, a Controlled Release is our official safety protocol used during lightning and other dangerous weather conditions. When this protocol is activated, our top priority is keeping everyone safe and out of the elements.
Here is a brief recap of how the process works:
Students Stay Indoors: All students remain safely inside the building. Students who typically walk or bike will also be held inside until the weather clears or a parent arrives to pick them up.
Know Your Pickup Location: If you typically use the back lot, please proceed to the back parking lot as normal. If your standard pickup is at the front of the school or the bottom of the hill, you will be directed to pull into the front parking lot.
Stay in Your Vehicle: Please remain in your car at all times to help expedite the line and ensure everyone's safety.
Display Your Name Card: Place your family name card clearly on the right-hand side of your dashboard so staff can quickly identify you.
Safe Student Loading: CCA staff members wearing yellow safety vests will call out names and escort your students directly to your vehicle.
Thank you again for helping us make this process safe, smooth, and efficient!
Playground and Field Update
We are excited to share that our new recess equipment is nearly fully installed, though the accompanying turf project has experienced some contractor delays. Fortunately, the turf crew was in working hard this weekend, and installation is now actively underway! This progress brings us closer to a completely woodchip-free play area and a brand-new turf field featuring a state-of-the-art cushioning system rather than traditional black rubber pellets. While we wait for the completed sections to be inspected and approved for safe use, students will continue having recess in the front lot and gym.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, appreciate your continued patience, and are incredibly excited to have this one-of-a-kind project finished for our students soon!

Fly Like an Eagle (FLAE) Day
Mark your calendars for Friday, September 4, 2026 – it’s nearly time for one of CCA’s traditions: Fly Like an Eagle (FLAE) Day!
Fly Like an Eagle (FLAE) Day is Almost Here!
FLAE Day is organized to start the school year off by creating connection through teamwork and collaboration! Students will spend the afternoon participating in team-building activities, outdoor games, and hands-on stations that bring these values to life.
We need your help to make it happen!
Whether you can volunteer your time or donate supplies, your support makes a big difference. Remember, donations count towards your family's volunteer hours! You can log 1 hour for every $20 spent.
Donations are needed by Friday, August 28, so if you're able to contribute, we’d be so grateful if you could purchase items soon.
Thank you for helping us make this event a success; we couldn’t do it without you!
Have questions about FLAE Day or the committee? Want to join us? We'd love that! Email us at ptoFLAE@cherrycreekacademy.org or drop in to our monthly meetings. Our next meeting is this Wednesday, August 19 at 2:15pm at CCA.
The Fly Like an Eagle Committee strives to inspire a connected and compassionate community. By uniting parents, staff, and students, we aim to create meaningful experiences that celebrate our Eagle Honor Traits and foster a culture of kindness, service, and well-being.
Back-to-School Carnival
Friday, August 21 at 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Come celebrate the new school year! All CCA students, family members, and friends are invited to join us for an evening of games, food, prizes, and school spirit. It’s the perfect way to unwind and connect with our community after the first few weeks of school.
A Quick Note on the Turf: The carnival is officially ON, whether the field turf is complete or not! Your PTO is working hard behind the scenes and has a great plan in place to ensure the fun goes on either way.
Important Details for the Night:
Supervision: All students must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the carnival.
Tickets & Wristbands: No RSVP is needed! Courtesy of the PTO Giving Circle, each child in a CCA student's immediate family will receive a wristband and 10 free tickets. Additional tickets are available for purchase.
Friends & Extended Family: Every participating child MUST have a wristband. Additional children outside of immediate CCA families are welcome and can purchase a wristband for $9.00 each.
