PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
Dear Tatarian Families,
We’ve had a wonderful first week of school! Students have done an amazing job settling into routines, building friendships, and showing excitement for learning. Classrooms are already filled with curiosity and positive energy, and it’s been great to see the smiles and enthusiasm each day.
Thank you for your support in helping your child transition smoothly into the new school year. We are looking forward to continuing this momentum as we dive deeper into learning in the weeks ahead. Here’s to a fantastic year together!

iREADY TESTING - DIAGNOSTIC 1
Students in K-6th will take the iReady Diagnostic assessment in reading and math within the two weeks of school. This assessment is given three times a year. This is not a test for a grade, but a tool that helps us understand what your child already knows and what they’re ready to learn next. The results help teachers tailor instruction to support your child's individual needs.
For questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Check out the testing tips to help your child prepare for the iReady Assessment.

SCHOOL-WIDE BEHAVIOR INCENTIVE
This year, Tatarian Elementary is starting a school-wide behavior incentive called Personal Responsibility. We believe that creating a positive and respectful school environment helps every child learn and grow. Our school-wide behavior incentive program is designed to encourage and celebrate positive choices, responsibility, and kindness throughout the school day.
The purpose of this program is to:
-
Reinforce positive behaviors that support learning and respect.
-
Build a strong, inclusive school culture where students feel recognized and valued.
-
Help students understand expectations and take pride in making good decisions.
-
Encourage consistency and fairness in how behavior is supported across classrooms and grade levels.
By working together—we create a school where all students feel safe, supported, and motivated to do their best.
Every teacher, will be reviewing Personal Responsibility with your child over the first two weeks of school and throughout the year school. More information will be sent home.
GUIDELINES FOR SUCCESS
SCHOOL MENU
Breakfast and lunch menus are subject to change.
ATTENDANCE
"Everyday Counts" is a district-wide initiative that emphasizes the importance of consistent attendance for student success. It's a reminder that each day of school is a building block for your child's future, and that regular attendance is crucial for academic progress and developing life skills.
For the 2025-26 school year, we will be promoting attendance within each classroom. Classrooms will have the opportunity to earn incentives by being present and on time.
