Family News for the 2026-2027 School Year: Family News for the 2026-2027 School Year:

Principal’s Weekly Update:

Please take a few minutes to read through this week’s newsletter for important updates, upcoming events, and key reminders to keep our school community connected and running smoothly.

  • Weather & Dress Reminders After a wet week, the cooler autumn weather is officially here! Please make sure your students come to school dressed in layers, including a warm coat. Colorado weather changes quickly throughout the day, and layers help ensure our students stay comfortable during outdoor recess and morning arrival.
  • Traffic & Arrival Safety We need everyone's help to keep our students safe during drop-off and pick-up. Recently, we have noticed a number of drivers not following the directions of our staff outside. Please remember that our team is out there every day with one primary goal: ensuring all children arrive and leave school safely. Please follow posted traffic patterns, slow down, and follow staff directions at all times.
  • Family-Teacher Conferences Family-teacher conferences are taking place this week! This is a wonderful opportunity to partner together on your child’s progress, but it also makes for a very long week for our dedicated teachers and staff. A huge thank you to all the families who have volunteered to bring in meals and treats for our team—your support means the world to us!

A few quick reminders for conference week:

  • Punctuality: Please arrive on time for your scheduled slot. Many of our teachers have back-to-back appointments, and staying on schedule ensures every family receives their dedicated time.

  • Schedules: If you are unsure of your assigned conference time, please reach out directly to your child's teacher via ClassDojo as soon as possible.

District Showcase & Costume Contest (Monday at 5:00 PM) Join us tomorrow, Monday evening, for the Westminster Public Schools District Showcase!

  • When: Monday at 5:00 PM

  • Where: Westminster High School

  • What: Come out to represent Fairview, join in on the Halloween Costume Contest, and stop by the Fairview booth to say hello to Ms. Morelli and me. We would love to see you there!

Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and dedication to keeping our school community safe and thriving.

Help Us Feed Our Amazing Fairview Staff!

Family and Teacher Conferences are right around the corner! While each individual family conference is just 20 minutes long, our amazing teachers and staff will be putting in a couple of very long days to ensure they can connect with every single family.

To say thank you for their hard work—and to keep their energy high—we love providing them with dinner during conference week.

As a school, we are covering one of the evening meals, but we would love your help fueling our staff on Thursday, October 22nd! We have 50 wonderful staff members to feed, so any contribution you can make—big or small—makes a huge difference.

If you are able to bring a dish, or treat to share, please let us know so we can prepare by October 14th.

Here's how you can let us know (you only need to do one):

What Makes Fairview Special? What Makes Fairview Special?

At Fairview, we use PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to focus on rewarding positive choices rather than just punishing mistakes. Staff award ClassDojo Points when students lead by example.

  • PBIS School Store: Students can spend their points at our School Store, run by the Student Council. Store deliveries will occur every other week, starting the first week of September, giving students time to save up points for bigger prizes!

  • Action Item for Families: If you haven't connected to your child's ClassDojo account yet, please do so today! It’s the best way to track their points, celebrate their progress, and message directly with their teachers.

Birthday Bash! Birthday Bash!

Celebrating our students is one of our favorite things to do, and our monthly Birthday Bash is a long-standing Fairview tradition that lets us honor every single child while keeping classroom instructional time focused and disruption-free. It truly is the best of both worlds!

On the first Friday of every month, we host a school-wide celebration for all scholars with birthdays during that month. Families are invited to send in a treat with their student to share with their class on this special day.

  • Next Birthday Bash: Friday, October 2nd

  • Who We Are Celebrating: All students with a birthday in October

If your child has a birthday in October free to send a birthday treat with them on Friday, October 2nd so we can give them the celebration they deserve! Thank you for helping us make our students feel special while keeping our learning momentum strong.

We love having families involved in our school community, and extra hands help keep Fairview running smoothly! Whether you are interested in chaperoning field trips or helping out around campus—such as reading with students, assisting at recess, grading, laminating, filing, or helping in our school garden—we would love your support.

To ensure the safety of all scholars, all volunteers and chaperones must complete a background check before starting. Please visit the WPS Parent & Community Volunteers webpage to fill out and submit your WPS Background Check Application. Thank you for partnering with us to make this a wonderful school year for our kids!

Dragon of the Month : Dragon of the Month :

We are excited to continue one of our favorite Fairview traditions—Dragon of the Month! Each month, our teachers will nominate and highlight a student who goes above and beyond in demonstrating our school values and setting a positive example for their peers.

If your child is selected, you will receive a personal invitation to join us for a special celebration ceremony, held on the first Thursday of every month right after school from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM. We can’t wait to celebrate our stellar scholars throughout the year!
