Principal's News

We had an amazing time diving into our One Book, One School selection, Be You! by Peter Reynolds! Throughout the week, students explored themes of self-discovery, confidence, and courage as they learned about being curious, brave, unique, persistent, and patient. We hope families enjoyed reading and discussing this inspiring book together at home. In class, students expressed their creativity by building boats adorned with words describing what they can "be"—a wonderful reminder that they can sail through life as their true selves!

Nurse's Notes

Nurse's News

Update Health Information: Please make sure to update any changes to your child’s health information, including allergies, medications, and emergency contact details. Thank you to all the parents who have already submitted their children’s physicals and immunization records! If you haven’t done so yet, please remember to submit them as soon as possible. Physicals are required for students in Kindergarten and Fourth Grade.

Reminder: Keep Students Home if They’re Feeling Unwell

One of the best ways to prevent illness from spreading is by ensuring that students who are feeling unwell stay home to recover. As a friendly reminder, please keep your child home from school if they are feeling unwell in any way. Even mild symptoms can impact their health and the wellbeing of other students and staff. If your child is unwell, please make sure they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school. This simple step helps prevent the spread of illness and keeps our school community safe and healthy.

Healthy Habits for a Great Start:

  • Handwashing: Encourage frequent handwashing with soap and water, especially before meals and after using the restroom.

  • Healthy Snacks: Pack nutritious snacks that fuel your child’s body and mind, such as fruits, veggies, and whole grains.

  • Sleep: Make sure your child is getting enough sleep each night. Elementary-aged children typically need 9-11 hours of sleep.

When to Keep Your Child Home:

If your child had any of the following symptoms today, please keep them home

  • Fever over 100 degrees (must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of tylenol or motrin to return to school)

  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea (if your child has had any vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours, they should not return to school)

  • Diagnosis of communicable disease such as strep throat or conjunctivitis (if diagnosed with a communicable disease and prescribed antibiotics, your child must not return to school until they have been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours)

A doctor’s note is required if a student is out five (5) or more consecutive days. If an absence is due to a communicable disease or a bone fracture, a doctor’s note is required the day the student returns to school and should include any recess/gym limitations.

Also, please send an extra set of clothing with your child to school. Accidents happen, and we may have limited clothing available at school. Having a spare outfit will help ensure your child stays comfortable throughout the day.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child's health, or if you're unsure whether they should attend school, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Library News

This week in the library, we read "Tell The Truth" written by Kate Tym. After Tanya eats all of her sister's birthday cake, she tries to blame aliens burglars. This humorous story helped enrich our discussion of behavioral expectations in the library and the importance of honesty in and out of the classroom.
