Open House is Almost Here!
We are excited to see all of you at Open House on Tuesday night! Please come anytime during your family's time slot. We do not have presentations scheduled, so you won't miss anything if you don't get here right at the beginning of your time slot. You may come in and go straight to your child's class. There will be tables for our PSO as well as community groups. You can also visit the specialists' classrooms. I ask that, for everyone's safety, you please stay with your children at all times. We are not able to provide supervision.
Preschool Starts Monday, 8 September!
We can't wait to welcome preschool students to The Osgood!
For AM drop-off, please arrive at 9:00 so that you may use the area directly in front of the school before buses arrive to drop off. PM drop-off is 12:30.
Pick up will be at the playground. Park in the same area but closer to the playground.

School Council Elections
Below are the candidates for School Council. We will be asking parents to vote for 3 candidates at Open House. There will be a space for write-in votes as well.
The School Council meets monthly to advise the principal on the following:
- adopting educational goals for the school that are nested in the District Strategic Plan by formulating a School improvement Plan
- Identifying students' educational needs
- reviewing the school budget

Members of the Council include the principal, staff members, elected parents, and selected community members.

Susana Arévalo
My name is Susana Arévalo, I’m originally from Colombia—the land of the world’s best coffee! My journey began as a social entrepreneur when I founded a nonprofit organization that has been transforming the lives of children from low-income communities for over 13 years in Colombia. TED Speaker at 2016, after winning the national social innovation contest. Later, life took me into the world of technology, where I helped launch and expand different tech startups across Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and of course, Colombia.
Today, I manage a boutique family hotel we built a few years ago, a project that combines my passion for hospitality, community, and creating meaningful experiences. Beyond business, I’m passionate about cooking, giving back, and always seeking new challenges that leave a positive mark.
As a mom of two (including an Osgood 1st grader) and an eternal optimist, I believe in the power of collaboration, creativity, and laughter to make any project successful. I would love to bring this spirit of energy and innovation to the Osgood School Council.
Whitney Klepadlo
Whitney is a dedicated community advocate and school parent committed to fostering inclusive, collaborative environments where every child can thrive. For the past three years, she has served on the CHNS Parents Committee, including a term as Co-Chair, helping to strengthen school-family connections and support meaningful initiatives. Inspired by her experience raising a son with Cystic Fibrosis, she has worked alongside the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to amplify family voices, build partnerships, and expand support networks. Drawing on more than a decade in strategic events and marketing, Whitney brings a proven ability to unite people around shared goals. If elected to the school council, she plans to apply her strategic thinking, empathy, and commitment to equity to ensure informed decisions that uplift every child and family in her district.
Just a Reminder!
From the PSO
Dear Osgood Families,
Happy back to school! Each year we show the teachers and staff at Osgood how much we appreciate all that they do by hosting three luncheons, all funded by donations from our Osgood families.
The first Osgood Staff Appreciation Luncheon of the year will be held on Friday, September 12th. Meals will be provided by The Barrel.
If you would like to contribute, please Venmo: @Jenny-Pratt-Woodberry (for verification, phone is 480-751-8861).
We are also asking for donations of baked goods, beverages, snacks and volunteers. Any extra donations of packaged snacks/treats and beverages are also appreciated as we hope to keep the staff room stocked with goodies!
*If you are bringing a baked good, please indicate what you are bringing and if it contains nuts/tree nuts.

What Expertise Can YOU Offer Our Students?
Cohasset is a community comprised of experts in a wide variety of fields. In order to deliver more authentic, hands-on, project-based learning experiences to students, the Cohasset School Committee, in collaboration with district leadership, is working to develop a "Community Resource Guide." This Guide will serve as an invaluable resource to our classroom teachers and school staff, as it will provide them with a comprehensive database of all stakeholders and interested parties who are willing to share their background, experience, and expertise in furtherance of our mission to Empower Students to Improve Communities.
There are many different ways in which one might participate in this endeavor, including classroom presentations, hosting or facilitating field trips, creating shadow or internship opportunities, or assisting with project-based learning experiences.
If you are willing to share your unique talents, passions, interests, and/or expertise, please click this link to fill out a brief interest form. We thank you for your willingness to volunteer your time in order to deliver impactful learning experiences to CPS students.
Onward and Upward,
Your School Committee
