Define360 SummerCamp NewsletterWeek 2 (June 10 - 13)

As-Salamu Alaykum As-Salamu Alaykum

Dear Summer Camp families,

We hope this newsletter finds you well and in the best of spirits as we delve into the wonderful happenings of Week 2 at our summer camp. The theme for this week was "Heal in the Mindfulness of Allah," centered around the concept of mindful worship and reflecting on the presence of Allah in our lives.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: There will be no camp on Monday & Tuesday (June 17th & 18th) because of Eid al Adha.

Mindful Worship Explorations: Throughout the week, our students delved deep into understanding the essence of focus and mindfulness in their worship. They pondered questions like, "What does it mean to focus in our prayer? Be mindful in our worship?" and "What can help remind us that Allah is always with us?" Through engaging in discussions and activities, they discovered that remembering Allah not only brings awareness but also provides comfort to our hearts, as beautifully expressed in Surah Ar-Ra'd (13:28).

Prophetic Heart: In our Prophetic Heart track, students immersed themselves in the mindfulness of Allah by reflecting on the Ayah, "Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort." (13:28). Through hands-on activities, they realized that being mindful of Allah's presence brings peace and tranquility to their hearts.

In Divine Stories, our learners embarked on a journey of mindful Salah through the story of Prophet Muhammad (S)'s miraculous Night Journey, Al Isra' wal Mi'raj. They not only learned about the significance of Salah but also practiced and tracked their prayers using a checklist, both at camp and at home.

STEM: STEM:

STEM Exploration: This week, students applied their creativity and problem-solving skills in STEM activities. They worked on designing and building their own bridges using popsicle sticks. Next week, each group will test the stability and durability of their bridges. This process of testing and growth mirrors the essence of mindfulness in relationships. Just as building a popsicle stick bridge involves trial and error, mindfulness in relationships means approaching challenges as opportunities for growth and learning, rather than viewing them as obstacles. By being mindful of our actions and their impact on others, we can cultivate deeper connections and create a more fulfilling relationship experience.
