Did you know that small, playful moments at home can help your child grow as a reader? Phonological and phonemic awareness—the ability to hear and play with sounds in words—are important building blocks for reading success. Here are some fun and simple ways to practice together:

Morning challenge: Pick a sound (like /t/) and ask your child to take a step every time they say a word that begins with that sound.
Game of toss: While tossing a ball back and forth, break words into sounds—one sound for each pass of the ball.
Bedtime rhymes: As you turn off the light, rhyme with the word light—try “flight,” “sight,” or “might.” Kids love to add their own silly rhymes too!

With just a few minutes a day, families can help build strong reading foundations in a fun, playful way.

¿Sabía que pequeños momentos de juego en casa pueden ayudar a su hijo a crecer como lector? La conciencia fonológica y fonémica—la habilidad de escuchar y jugar con los sonidos en las palabras—son bases muy importantes para el éxito en la lectura.

Aquí tiene algunas maneras divertidas y sencillas para practicar juntos:

This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the incredible work happening at our school and the impact our students, staff, and families are making every day.
We would love to fill the room with our students, families, and community members to show the strength, pride, and support behind Emory.

BrightLife helps ensure all California families have the behavioral health support they need, when they need it.

BrightLife Kids is a CalHOPE program that offers free, personalized support for California families. Kids ages 0-12 get free, expert coaching for sleep issues, worry, social skills and more. Parents and kids will have access to live, 1:1 video sessions, secure chat, on-demand content and other valuable tools.

NAVY SCHOOL LIAISON WEEKLY WRAP-UP

Military families are invited to connect with their School Liaison by signing up to receive a weekly email. A School Liaison’s primary function is to serve as a conduit between parents, educators, and the command so military-connected children experience a seamless transition during the transfer between schools. Once settled, a School Liaison provides military families with up-to-date education and Navy resources available in support of PreK-12 students.

All District schools have systems and procedures in place to enforce the District's bullying prevention policies. All alleged claims of bullying are investigated and reported to District personnel. Documentation for various reporting and accountability data is collected. Each campus uses the District provided investigation form and keeps all reports on file at the site level for three years.

The following anti-bullying resources/strategies are utilized to raise awareness and prevent bullying:
