The Weekly Update

It’s that time again. The school supplies are piling up in the stores, which means “back to school” is around the corner. Check out our website (to locate the page, click on the Back to School icon on the homepage of wbsd-schools.org) for information such as school supply lists, meet and greet events, and picture days.

Coming soon! Registration for the 2026-2027 school year will open next week. Watch for an email with details on how to update and verify information for each child, review the handbook, and pay fees.

Many of the highlights of the past school year are captured in the annual Vantage Point yearbook by the West Bend School District. From a state track and field champion, to Scholastic Art award winners, to the new high school configuration. Relive these amazing events in the latest Vantage Point.

The American Heart Association recognized and celebrated the outstanding leadership and dedication of Brenna Knox at Silverbrook Intermediate and Deann Seaman at Decorah Elementary for their exceptional work in implementing the Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs during the 2025-2026 school year. Both successfully engaged students, families, and their broader school communities in meaningful service-learning experiences. Notably, this year’s program led to 38 district families learning Hands Only CPR and raised a combined $11,710 for the American Heart Association. Congratulations and thank you to Brenna and Deann.

Summer is construction season across the district, and work continues to make great progress at several schools.

• At Badger Middle School:

• renovations to the locker rooms are advancing, with concrete masonry work underway

• installation of the new gym floor has begun

• fire alarm devices have now been installed throughout all three floors of the academic wings

• At Green Tree Elementary:

• installation of the new air handling unit is about to begin

• crews have completed the water connection for the new fire hydrant, an important step in the construction of the new parking lot and student drop-off/pick-up area

• At Jackson Elementary:

• construction continues on concrete foundation slabs being poured

• crews prepare for the installation of structural steel

• work is underway on the elevator shaft and kitchen walls

• utility crews completed the installation of underground plumbing and electrical lines
