Absence Line & Email Address: 781-383-6115; DHS-notes@cohassetk12.org. Please note that students are responsible for knowing their dismissal plan each day. Any same day changes must be made by calling the office as teachers are not able to monitor their email while teaching.

Goulet Instrument Rental Night: Instrument Rental Night is for 4th grade students and 5th grade students who are new to band and who want to rent an instrument from Goulet. Families with students who took band last year don't need to attend. It will be held on Monday, September 15, beginning at 7PM in the Deer Hill School cafeteria. Here are some other need to knows:

Accepted payment methods: Cash, check, or Venmo ONLY
Unless you hear from Mr. DeWaal directly, your student will be getting their first choice instrument
Please plan on purchasing a copy of Essential Elements for Band - Book 1, it is required for your student's lessons
Please consider purchasing a folding music stand, it helps develop good performance posture
If you are unable to attend Monday's rental night but would still like to rent through Goulet & Co., please call their office at 781-829-2282.

Contact Update and Annual Permissions: As part of our back to school process, it’s important that you complete the Contact Update and Annual Permissions workflow for the 2025-2026 school year. Attached are two help sheets to help you with the necessary steps which should only take a few minutes. Thank you so much for making every effort to login to Aspen and complete this process before Friday, September 19th. Our school secretary, Mrs. McElhinney, will be following up with families (relentlessly!) until we have 100% completion, so she is very grateful if you could meet this deadline:)

Confidential Health Form: Thank you to ALL Deer Hill families for completing this year's Confidential Health Form. You may return it either by emailing Nurse Bulman (cbulman@cohassetk12.org) a pdf copy (no photos please) or by printing it out and returning a hard copy to school. We require this form for all students.

Deer Hill Picture Day: Picture Day will take place on Thursday, Septemeber 18. Order your pictures online at mylifetouch.com.

New School Council Member: After the election at Tuesday's Open House, I'm pleased to welcome Nicole Berg as our newest Deer Hill School Council member. Nicole will join current parent members Jennifer Dial and Simon Leonard as she begins her two year term. Staff members of the School Council include Karin Johnston, Maika Massari, and myself. We look forward to a productive year!

Thank You for a Great Open House! It was wonderful to see the turnout for our back to school Open House. Classrooms were buzzing and teachers appreciated an opportunity to meet you and share a bit about the year.

Monday Meet Up: Throughout the year Deer Hill holds Monday Meet Up assemblies where we come together as a school community. Our first assembly of the year reviewed behavior expectations to ensure that we are all doing our part to ensure our school is a place where we all feel comfortable and ready to learn.
