We invite everyone to download the Coatesville Area School District App from the App/Play store on your smart devices. The app is a great place to view school and CASD news/updates. Keep up on school events with the built-in calendar and find links to contact teachers and support staff. Check out the documents section for resources and information as well.
School Supplies
A list of school supplies can be found on the King's Highway website: School Supplies | King's Highway Elementary
In addition to the listed school supplies, each student will need a spill-proof water bottle. There are several bottle-fill stations for students to access drinking water. There are no water fountains in the building.
Pickup Patrol - Register TODAY
The New Way to Share Dismissal Changes - Digitally
REGISTER: On Monday, August 18th. You will receive a registration email from PickUp Patrol with a link to set up your account. The parent portal is free to parents and can be accessed from your phone or computer. The link in your registration email will be live for 48 hours. As soon as you receive it, please log in and confirm your child’s default plan.
How It Works:
Your child’s regular dismissal plan will be entered into the system. This is called their Default Plan.
Whenever your child is doing something other than their Default Plan, you’ll submit a Plan Change via PickUp Patrol.
Examples of a Plan Change:
Your child normally rides the bus, but is getting picked up today.
Your child is getting picked up by someone other than yourself.
Your child has a doctor's appointment and will be leaving early.
When the change is submitted, our school will be notified, and we’ll relay the change to your child & their teacher.
If you have any questions, please first check the PickUp Patrol Parent Guide & if you need additional assistance, let us know. If you do not see an email from PickUp Patrol, please check your HAC account to make sure we have the updated email.
Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival: Doors open at 9:15 AM. Students may head to their classrooms or go to the cafeteria for breakfast (available to all).
- Traffic Safety: The front lane closest to the building is bus-only during both arrival and dismissal. Please do not enter or stop in that lane.
- Car riders should use the designated car loop that leads to the blacktop area. Follow the pink dots in the image above.
Dismissal at 3:45 PM:
Car riders wait in the cafeteria to be called.
Bus riders are dismissed from their classrooms and escorted to their buses.
If there are any changes to your child’s regular dismissal routine, please use PickUp Patrol to share that information or contact the main office - KHoffice@casdschools.org
Kindergarten Orientation
We look forward to meeting our newest class of King's Highway learners. On August 21st from 2:00 -3:00 PM, we invite all kindergarteners and their families to join us for orientation. Students will meet with their teachers, then take a quick bus ride around the area to become familiar with safe school bus riding practices. While students visit classrooms, families will attend an orientation meeting to meet support staff and learn about what to expect in Kindergarten. We will have plenty of time for questions and answers, so bring all your questions and curiosities.

PBIS & PRIDE
At our school, PRIDE is at the heart of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. PRIDE stands for being Positive, Respectful, Inclusive, Dependable, and Engaged. The values we strive to instill in every student. Through PBIS, students are taught clear expectations and are recognized for demonstrating positive behaviors that reflect PRIDE. When students show these qualities, they earn points or tickets, which they can trade in for fun experiences, special privileges, or tangible rewards. This positive reinforcement shows students that good choices are the way to go and helps them take ownership of their actions.
PBIS is a research-based framework used in schools across the country to improve student outcomes and create a favorable school climate. PBIS focuses on prevention, consistency, and positive reinforcement. It helps reduce disruption, increase academic engagement, and foster a safer, more inclusive environment for all students. By teaching and celebrating positive behaviors, we empower students to grow both socially and emotionally while building a strong, respectful school community.
