The Literacy Link
Spring has Sprung and FES Reads is still going strong! March proved a great time to get lost in a book. We had 54 readers complete their nightly reading sheets. April's sheets will be distributed on Tuesday, April 1st. Keep reading Falcons!
OSOB is about to conclude this week! Students are loving the school adventures of Rip and Red. They have been answering the Trivia Questions and lucky ballers have received a mini-basketball each day of this school wide activity. This will end just in time for grades 3, 4 and 5 to embark upon this year's ELA MCAP assessment.
Finally, Tier 2 Interventions are in Round 5 and students are looking good with their phonics skills. There are only 5 students, in grades 1-5, working on their Letter Names and Sounds. We have 110 students who have mastered their grade level phonics skills and are improving their fluency and accuracy ability with grade level texts.
KEEP READING !!!!!!!!!
The Calculation Station
Shout out to our Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade students who have been diligently working at home and in school to master their multiplication facts! We are up to 57 Mathletes so far this year! Our Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade students have been hard at work on their addition and subtraction understanding as well! They are all Mathletes in our book! Way to put in the work, Falcons!!!
Did you know that April is Mathematics and Statistics Awareness Month? What a perfect time to highlight some of the many ways math is prevalent in our everyday lives! Helping children to learn to understand and to love math is especially important as it helps develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills. Feeling confident in math helps young people develop their potential to change the world.
