September 2026 Newsletter
Safe, On-Task, Accountable, Respectful
Welcome Back Eagles!
Hello Evergreen Eagles Families,
What a great start to the school year it has been! Our Eagles have hit the ground running, and it's been wonderful seeing familiar faces back on campus along with all our new Eagles settling in.
We're thrilled to share that Evergreen has been named a PBIS Platinum School a wonderful recognition of the positive, supportive culture our staff and students work so hard to build together. To keep that momentum going, our classes have spent time reviewing our school-wide expectations, making sure every Eagle knows what it looks like to be Safe, On-Task, Accountable, and Respectful.
We also kicked things off with our first School Spirit Assembly of the year! The energy on campus was contagious, and it was a great reminder of just how much Eagle pride we have here at Evergreen.
Each month, you'll receive this newsletter with updates and important information to keep you connected to what's happening at Evergreen. Be sure to follow our other communication channels too, so you never miss a beat on school news, activities, and upcoming events.
We appreciate you taking a few minutes to read along, and here's to a fantastic year ahead!
Go Eagles!
Respectfully,
Dr. Gabriel Cardenas
Principal, Evergreen Elementary School

Evergreen Elementary School and The Leader in Me
As we begin this new chapter together, I am thrilled to celebrate an incredible milestone as we officially kick off our first year as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, a distinction given to schools "where other schools come to learn." Out of more than 8,000 Leader in Me schools across 70 countries, only 865 have earned this prestigious designation, and Evergreen is now proudly among them!
Our Student Lighthouse Team has already hit the ground running, meeting a couple of times to plan for the year ahead, and Action Team recruitment is officially underway. Across campus, our Eagles are diving into the 8 Habits, taking on classroom leadership roles, crafting their Mission Statements, and stepping up as Greeters to welcome our school community each day and that's just the beginning!
This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our students, staff, and families, and our Evergreen leaders are eager to lead. We know this will be a successful Leader in Me school year!
As always, our S.O.A.R. model, Safe, On-Task, Accountable, and Respectful, will continue to guide our daily interactions and help create the positive learning environment where all students can flourish. Our students have shown remarkable growth in confidence and capability, and I can't wait to see what they accomplish next.
