Dear OBJH Families,

We have officially made it through our first couple of weeks at The Bay! It has been so nice to have our students back in the building and to see them settling into their classes, reconnecting with friends, and getting more comfortable with the routines of the school year.

Now that we’re getting settled, we’re starting to really pay attention to how things are going for our students. We’re looking at attendance, how students are engaging in class, how our routines are going, and where students may need a little extra support along the way.

At home, this is a great time to check in with your student too. Ask them what’s going well, what class they’re enjoying, what has been challenging, or if there’s anything they need help with. Sometimes those simple conversations tell us a lot!

We have another full week coming up with our fire evacuation drill on Tuesday, 1.5 hour early release on Wednesday, and Fall Picture Day on Friday. Be sure to take a look through the rest of the newsletter for all the details.

Thank you for continuing to partner with us. We’re off to a great start, and I’m excited to see where this year takes us!

Take Care,

Maryann Marshall - Principal

Paige Gangewer- Assistant Principal

Tyler Glaser - Assistant Principal

We’re excited to begin introducing ASB leadership opportunities for the 2026–2027 school year!

Our 8th Grade ASB Executive Council includes elected leadership positions for students who want to help shape the student experience at Oakland Bay. Council members help plan school events, build school spirit, represent student voice, and model our 3Rs: Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience.

In addition to the Executive Council, every 7th and 8th grade Advisory will elect a class representative to help bring student ideas, questions, and feedback to ASB.

Encourage your student to consider stepping up, getting involved, and using their voice. More information about positions, applications, and elections will be shared soon.

Lead the Pack. Represent The Bay.

To support student learning, connection, and a positive school environment, cell phones should be turned off and stored in student lockers during the school day.

We appreciate families partnering with us to help students stay present and focused throughout their day.

A few important reminders:

Cell phones should be off and stored in lockers
Students should not carry phones in classrooms, hallways, or other school spaces
If a student needs to contact home, a staff member can help
If families need to reach their student during the school day, please contact the main office

Thank you for helping us create a school environment where students can focus on learning, relationships, and being part of our T-Wolf community.

Be Present. Be Connected. Be a T-Wolf.

At the Bay, we believe in the power of teamwork and the strength of community. To help foster a sense of safety, belonging, and connection for all our students, we are inviting you to partner with us by volunteering!

Your presence and involvement not only enhances safety but also shows our students that their families and school are united in supporting their success. Whether you can join us weekly or for special events, your contribution will make a meaningful impact.

Thank you for helping us make the Bay a place where everyone feels supported and valued.
