Cockrell Champion Families...Happy Thursday!

We have loved having our kids back at Cockrell! It's just the best! We hope you have had a great few days as well!

I always love hearing about the wonderful things that are happening for our kids. If you have a shout-out regarding your child's teacher, Mrs. Gee and I would love to hear from you!

A few reminders:

  • No visitors for lunch until the Tuesday after Labor Day so our kiddos can learn routines and connect with those around them.

  • You will always need your ID (and any visitors coming with you) when coming to campus.

  • If you have questions about your child's bus, follow the link on Gasmire's Good News regarding PISD transportation questions.

  • The first few days please plan accordingly in understanding that we will be delayed in getting buses out on time and in car lines moving quickly. We ask for your patience as we confirm all 750 children are in their correct spots for dismissal as we put their safety as our number one priority. We are grateful for our community and we ask for your help, respect, and patience as we get dismissal to our goal of being done no later than 3:25 in the coming weeks.

  • If you need to make changes to your child's dismissal, we ask that this is not an all the time thing so that our kids can get into a routine. However, we understand life happens and plans change. Please contact the front office for dismissal changes, not your child's teacher, as they are busy with our kiddos and not readily checking email during the school hours.

We love this place and we deeply value our partnership with you. Thank you for trusting us!

The Champion Way The Champion Way

Our staff worked together prior to the first day of school to revise our previous behavior essentials that we used to call "The Great 8". The new name for how we are working to teach our kiddos about important social, emotional, and behavior traits is now called "The Champion Way"- and there are still 8 of them, because there are 8 letters in the word "Champion"! Take a look below! Your child will be learning more about developing this complete Champion skillset throughout their learning year and time here at Cockrell! We would love for our families to use this language at home, too! Reach out to Mrs. Henry or your child's teacher for more information!

Meet with students monthly, during the school day, for 30 minutes
Build positive relationships rooted in trust and respect
Serve as role models and champions for student success
Help students develop confidence, character, and connection

Back to School Transportation Information Back to School Transportation Information

To enhance student safety and accountability, all Prosper ISD bus riders in grades PK–12 will be required to have and use a Bus Rider ID Badge for transportation services.

Each badge contains RFID technology that helps us:

  • Confirm students are boarding the correct bus.

  • Improve rider accountability.

  • Assist with student location verification during transportation operations.

  • Support campus and parent inquiries.

  • Enhance emergency response capabilities.

  • Improve overall student safety.

What Parents Need to Know

  • Students should bring their Bus Rider ID Badge to school each day.

  • Students will scan their badge when boarding and exiting the bus.

  • If a badge is lost or damaged, please notify your campus as soon as possible.

  • Additional information regarding replacement badges will be shared by the campus.

The Bus Rider ID Badge program is designed to provide an added layer of safety and accountability while helping us better serve students and families.
