Last Week's Photos
English Language Arts
Last week, we finished reading Freak the Mighty, and we watched Wonder (despite a thousand tech hiccups!!). Students continued the hard work of learning and using 15 new vocabulary words. Students started drafting their first big writing assignment of the year. I provided them with 30 different “spooky” photos, and they wrote a flash draft.
This week, students will continue workshopping the spooky photo flash draft in order to wrap up this first story by Monday, November 11th. In Reading, we will conclude our analysis of Freak the Mighty by looking at plot and theme more closely. We will have our second Wordly Wise test of the year.

Social Studies
Science
A study tool for extra credit must be turned in at least one day before the test. The goal this year is to form the habit of studying more than one night before the test. Test questions will include some memorization but also application. It’s important to be able to understand the concepts and not just memorize definitions.
