The Capital Jaguar Football Team currently holds a 4-5 record with one regular-season game remaining. This week, the Jaguars will face the Belen Eagles, with the winner earning the title of District 1-5A Runner-Up.
It has truly been a season of growth for our student-athletes. From a challenging start to where we stand today, these young men have shown remarkable resilience and determination. Through early adversity, they learned valuable lessons, strengthened their bond, and came together as a unified teamβrepresenting the pride and spirit of Capital High School.

- FAFSA Workshops for Seniors
Seniors will be participating in FAFSA workshops during Advisory Period beginning October 29th - November 19th. We will also host FAFSA nights for families!
The FAFSA is important because it is the key to accessing the largest source of financial aid for college, including federal grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships from states and colleges. Completing the free application is essential for making college more affordable, as it determines your eligibility for financial aid and can be a requirement for receiving aid or even for high school graduation in some states. Applying early is also advantageous because many aid programs, especially need-based ones, are first-come, first-served.
Key reasons FAFSA is important
Opens up the largest source of financial aid:
The FAFSA is the gateway to federal aid like grants, which don't have to be repaid, and federal student loans.
Provides access to grants and scholarships:
It is a prerequisite for many private scholarships and aid programs, and some state and institutional aid.
Enables eligibility for work-study programs:
The application determines your eligibility for federal work-study programs, which allow you to earn money through a campus job.
Is a requirement for college and state aid:
Many colleges and states use FAFSA information to award their own financial aid packages.
Completing it is crucial even if you don't think you qualify for aid, as you could still be eligible for loans or need-based institutional scholarships.
Secures federal student loans:
It is required to be considered for federal student loans, which can have more favorable terms than private loans.
