Superintendent's Weekly Update
March 18th, 2022
May 6, 2022
Dear Weymouth Schools' Community,
It's hard to believe as things continue to warm up outside the school year is winding down across the district!
This week was filled with gratitude as we celebrated our educators, nurses and school lunch heroes, and their enormous contributions towards the success of our students. As we continue to reflect on how far we've come in the last two years, and how critical the efforts of our school staff continues to be in meeting the academic, developmental, nutritional, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of our students. Our nurses, educators and lunch personnel have been, and continue to be, a lifeline to our students, schools, and community. We are so grateful for their efforts, and dedication to the advancements of all our students every day.
This month is Mental Health Awareness Month, and as a district we hope to raise awareness about the importance of children's mental health. Thank you to all who wore green today to celebrate this important cause!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Diversity Summit last weekend. It was an exceptional day filled with educational opportunities and an open and honest dialogue. Next week we look forward to celebrating the many cultures of our community at our upcoming town-wide International Night on Thursday, May 12 at Weymouth High School (additional details below).
As always, have a great weekend, and we'll see you back in school on Monday. As a reminder, there is no school on Tuesday, May 10 for staff development.
Best Regards,
Robert Wargo

CInco de Mayo Celebrations at Seach Elementary!
THANK YOU to all of our educators!
Words truly are not enough to express our gratitude to our teachers and all educators who are the foundation of our district. You impact on your schools, students, and communities is endless. Today, and every day, we THANK YOU.
THANK YOU to all our School Lunch Heroes!
Today (Friday - May 6) we are also celebrating our School Lunch Personnel during the 10th Annual School Lunch Hero Day! School Lunch Hero Day is a chance to showcase the difference school nutrition professionals make for every child who comes through the cafeteria.
This year, Chartwells, in celebration of their 25th anniversary, donated and distributed one copy of the book Lunch Lady 2-For-1 Special to each of the elementary schools in the district to put in their libraries.
We hope the book offers another way to shine the spotlight on the food service team's heroic efforts to continue to go above and beyond serving up happy and healthy meals to kids every day.
& We can't forget a HUGE THANK YOU to our SCHOOL NURSE DEPARTMENT!

Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and May 1-7 is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week! Below are resources, activities, and events that are happening throughout the month. Please feel free to share with your staff, families and the community. With 1 in 5 kids having a diagnosable mental health condition, now is the time to do our part in reducing the stigma around mental health and wellness.
