MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS

Dear Lindblom Families and Students,

This week, I spent some time reviewing and reflecting on our CIWP Priority 1 (Curriculum and Instruction) across the last two school years. Our instructional vision is consistent, while the shifts and differences highlight how our collective practice continues to evolve in response to the needs of our students and the school community.

Expanding our focus:

  • Last year, we focused mainly on Competency-Based Education (CBE).

  • This year, we are adding CLRT to ensure that learning is meaningful, relevant, and inclusive for all students.

Clearer expectations for learning:

  • Last year, the goal was for students to be empowered through high-quality, grade-level learning.

  • This year, we’re going deeper—making sure all instruction is not only high-quality and aligned to standards, but also culturally responsive in every subject area.

Evidence of Impact:

  • Last year, our outcome was more generalized: student engagement and mastery.

  • This year, we’re explicitly measuring teacher practice and student outcomes—100% teacher implementation, as measured by lesson/unit plan reviews and internal learning cycles, along with student empowerment.

These differences refine our focus, and this level of intentionality will help us keep the main thing the main thing. It’s all about growing better together in the best interest of our school community. None of us can do this work alone. LMSA is a teaching and learning institution for our entire school community.

Together we rise onward & upward,

Principal Banks

Student Spotlight

Shout-out to Harper Williams! Harper organized a student walkout to protest a nationwide campaign regarding school safety in the United States. His plans didn't just involve an encouragement to his peers to leave campus. He met with administration to determine the protocols and the safest way to conduct the walkout. He led over 200 students in the protest.

Attendance Matters

REMINDER: If a student has a record of (5) tardies within a two week window, detention will be the consequence. Detentions will occur from 3:15 - 4:15 on Tuesday and Thursday. If a student is late to detention, it will not count as served. Failure to complete detention will prohibit engagement with school events (coaches will be made aware). Week 1 Detentions begin the week of 9/15.

  • Students must ALWAYS have LMSA School ID on them, whether physical or electronic.

  • Students must manage their time during the passing period to ensure they make it to class on time.

    • Students who are tardy to class will need to visit the tardy scanners located on each floor to scan in and retrieve a tardy pass.

    • Students must arrive in class within three (3) minutes from the time indicated on the tardy pass.

    • Any student without a pass in the hallway after the initial hall sweep will be escorted to the nearest tardy station to receive a pass.
