Also, please remember to bring your child a water bottle for these warm days ahead. Thank you for your attention to these matters.
The end of the school year is near and itās lovely that we have gone through so much play dough. The childrenās creativity is astounding! Sadly we have run out of fresh, new playdough. If anyone would like to donate some to our class we would greatly appreciate it! Here is the Amazon link:
We could also use some sandwich size plastic bags. So far snacks are looking good for a bit. I will let you know when or if more is needed. Thank you so much!!!
It has been an absolute pleasure having all of your wonderful children in class this year!
Loads of Love,
Mrs. Johnston & Ms. Megan

Dear Pre-K Families,
We are excited to share whatās happening in our classroom this May!
What Weāre Learning
This month, our learning is focused on life cycles and the world around us. In science, students are exploring butterflies, flowers, and even chicks, while also learning about different types of weather.
In dramatic play, our classroom has transformed into a post office, where students are writing letters, sorting mail, and delivering packages. This helps build early literacy, communication, and social skills through imaginative play.
In math, we are focusing on recognizing numbers, sorting, and counting. These skills are being practiced through hands-on activities, games, and daily routines to build a strong foundation for school readiness.

May News
Classroom News
What a busy and exciting April it has
been in our classroom! This month,
students explored the life cycle of a
butterfly. They learned about the four
stages (egg, caterpillar, chrysalis &
butterfly) and had the special
opportunity to see science in action.
Watching our caterpillars turn into
butterflies sparked so much curiosity
and wonder, and students did a
wonderful job making observations
and sharing their thinking along the
way.
As we begin to wind down the school
year, weāre looking forward to diving
into an ocean unit! Throughout this
unit students will work together in
small groups to create ocean
animals, which we'll display on our
classroom walls to build our very
own aquarium dramatic play area.
Our sensory able will feature sand
and alphabet shells, giving students
a fun, hands-on way to practice
letter matching skills. Weāll continue
to build our writing skills, and of
course weāll add in some extra fun
along the way (did someone say
slime?) Itās sure to be a creative and
memorable learning experience for all!
Reminders
Please bring in a white t-shirt for your child to tie dye by May 22nd!
As we head into warmer weather and we're spending more time outside, please be sure your child has a full water bottle every day!
Upcoming events
Butterfly release: May 1
Special Lady Breakfast: May 8
Beach snack day: May 15
No School May 25
