Volunteers Needed for Shady Grove’s Annual Harvest Festival!
It’s everyone’s favorite time of year — Harvest Festival time!
Join us on Thursday, October 22nd from 5:30–7:30 PM for an evening of fall fun, friends, and community. This is a FREE event for all Shady Grove families!
New to SGE? Harvest Fest is a little bit Trunk or Treat, a little bit dance party, and a whole lot of fun. It’s one of the most beloved nights of the year — and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
As always, it takes a village to pull off Harvest Fest! To volunteer to work the event, help with set up or clean up or to decorate a trunk, click here to sign up! We need lots of treats and candy to give out to our families, so please consider purchasing something from the Amazon Wish list — or using it as a baseline for picking up candy and treats on your own. Note: if you purchase from the Wishlist, you should have the option to ship right to Shady Grove!
Please send donations to the office by October 22! Thank you for helping us make Harvest Fest a fun night for our entire school community!
Spirit Store is Open!
The Shady Grove spirit store is now open and will run until November 1st at 11:59 pm.
Check it out here!
Calling All 4th Grade Families!
We need your help with the 4th grade scarecrow project taking place on October 20th! Feel free to volunteer to sign up to come help or send in items (please scroll all the way down on the sign up to see all the available spots). There will be a HSA donation bin near the front office. Hay bales can be dropped off in the garden or feel free to send a donation for a hay bale and it will get delivered. No time to go shopping? Consider purchasing from our Amazon Wishlist!
Annual HSA Dues
You might have seen a yellow envelope come home with your student last week!
The HSA is collecting our annual dues to help fund all of the amazing activities we sponsor here at Shady Grove. The HSA is a non-profit organization and cannot function without the financial support of our community. While our organization is free to join, we do ask for contributions to help support our efforts.
We suggest an amount of $20.00 per student, but all levels of support are appreciated and tax-deductible. We accept donations by cash and check (made out to Shady Grove H&SA) to be sent back to school in the yellow envelope or if your envelope ended up in the trash by mistake you can pay your dues on the Membership Toolkit platform by clicking this link.
Garden Volunteers Needed!
Parent volunteers are needed to assist the garden coordinator in managing the classes when they visit for their 30 minute slot. Here is the sign up link for this fall. Volunteer for as many classes as you would like!
If you have any questions, please contact: Colette Varano via email, colette.varano@gmail.com.

Reminder! Purchase your yearbook here before October 31st to get a 10% discount!
*You do not need to purchase for your 5th grader. They will be provided for all 5th graders!

60th Anniversary Fundraiser for WEOF
As Wissahickon School District celebrates its 60th Anniversary, the Wissahickon Educational Opportunities Foundation (WEOF) is proud to introduce a special collection of commemorative merchandise to help celebrate this milestone year. Check it out here.
Inspired by the district's founding in 1966, our exclusive anniversary collection includes:
60th Anniversary Yard Signs, Commemorative Magnets, and Canvas Tote Bags
Every purchase helps support WEOF's mission to expand educational opportunities and enrich learning experiences for students across the district.
When you purchase a commemorative anniversary item, you're not only celebrating 60 years of Wissahickon excellence, you're helping create new opportunities for today's students and tomorrow's learners.
Together, we honor 60 years of learning, achievement, and community while investing in the future of Wissahickon students.

More Information on WeCare
WeCare is fueled by the passion of its founders Eva O'Brien, Kelly Evans, Lauren Kellock, and Sue Kauffman DePuyt.
WeCare's mission is to build a supportive community for food-insecure Ambler families, creating connections and providing direct access to essential resources. WeCare is currently assisting 21 families (including 58 children) with bi-weekly food distribution and resource newsletters during the school year, and in the summer of 2024, they distributed 2,708 nutritious snack bags, and organized activities for over 400 children. WeCare is aligned with the non-profit organization, Family Promise Montco, PA. Sign up to tell WeCare you can help cover costs.
Donations can be made in person or online at fpmontco.org/donate/wecare and checks payable to “Family Promise Montco PA” with “WeCare” in the memo line mailed to Family Promise Montco PA, 31 S Spring Garden Street, Ambler, PA, 19002.
