Graduation and Promotion
It has been a few weeks since our eighth graders promoted and our Class of 2023 graduated. Both events were great celebrations of all that we do at Mayfair Middle and High School. Please take a few minutes to see few highlights from both events below.
Summer School/Academy Update
We had approximately 900 Monsoons participate in Summer programs this summer. Congrats to our teaching staff lead by Julie Denmion (Academy @ Lindstrom) and Krystyn Mitchell (Summer School) for supporting staff and students throughout the summer.
Looking Ahead - Bell Schedule
As we transition to block schedule, I am sure there are many questions. We have shared the "why" behind this decision in the spring. However, we are working on a detailed newsletter that will hopefully address the vast majority of your questions. Please remember that this new schedule gives us flexibility to support students while simultaneously providing opportunities for enrichment and electives.
Full Steam Ahead
Our theme for the 2023-24 School Year at Mayfair are three simple words: "FULL STEAM AHEAD!" As we move into the new building, a new energy is gaining momentum. We are so thrilled about the new facility and its impact on the education of our Monsoons! Our focus will be moving beyond the struggles of the last few years Post-Covid and we look to a fresh start and truly focus our Monsoons on their futures with the support of a great teaching staff, a state of the art new facility and a focus on moving forward!
Preview Days
Preview Days are coming! Please see the flier at the top of this newsletter for information, dates and times. Please remember that schedule changes at this point will be made on the following criteria:
- Errors in the Schedule (Missing a graduation requirement) - Missing an ENGLISH or ACADEMIC CORE class
- Students with Double Classes (two of the same class)
Students who have taken a class already (ex: Summer School)
Students in the wrong GRADE level of class: Sophomore in English 12
- ADDITIONS TO ATHLETIC TEAMS MUST COME FROM THE HEAD COACH/ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Students will also be able to purchase PARKING PASSES, ASB CARDS, YEARBOOKS, MAYFAIR SWAG AND PE CLOTHES
Data Confirmation (Opens July 21st)
“Data Confirmation” is an important part of Mayfair’s online registration using AERIES Parent Portal. You can access the parent portal at https://parentportal.busd.k12.ca.us, click on “Data Confirmation” for each student. You will be asked a series of questions to verify and authorize your information. It is EXTREMELY important to make sure we have the appropriate contact information - especially for emergency situations, such as school closures.
