A Few Notes from Us...
Students enjoyed a three-day weekend, but our staff got back to work on Monday for a day of Professional Development. Our staff is doing some incredible things with the Early Release Wednesdays, and having a full day's worth of time gave our teams a greater opportunity to build on work that impacts all of our students.
Gratitude Month at AGS with HOPE Squad
We practice gratitude when we intentionally appreciate some external help or support. In our school and community, there are lots of people who help us with a gesture, a gift, or kindness. Students across grade levels had the chance to participate in HOPE Squad's first gratitude activities this past week. In lunches on Tuesday and Thursday, anyone could create a message for our Gratitude Wall. You can see our Gratitude Table and Gratitude Wall below.
Students also had a chance to participate in a Gratitude Scavenger Hunt on Friday! The Gratitude Wall and Scavenger Hunt will be back throughout the month, and this week, students can sign up for SRT sessions to do some Gratitude Letter Writing, too.
Because it is the first year we're taking AGS Middle Schoolers to Gettysburg & Washington DC, I want to keep everyone updated on the trip occasionally. It will evolve and grow year-over-year, and I'm pleased to announce that this past week, we reached a milestone! We have more than 100 travellers with 76 8th graders and 26 family members!
If you're enjoying this evening's football game, I certainly don't expect you to read the AGS News until it's over. Though I don't expect a Sparty miracle, I do want to offer a hearty GO GREEN! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
KINDNESS and COURAGE!
Mr. Malecki

PTO's "No Fuss Fundraiser"
No bake sales. No selling. No “-thons"- Just one simple, one-time donation to support everything the PTO does for our AGS Middle School community.
Your gift helps fund Staff Appreciation Week, the 8th grade dance, field trips, grounds beautification and decorations, classroom and club grants, long-term projects that benefit our students and more.
Our goal is to raise $6,000, which comes out to about $10 per student. Every gift, big or small, makes a difference. There’s nothing to buy, sell, or sign up for, and no time commitment required.
Our PTO's "No Fuss Fundraiser" runs through Friday, December 18th.
Donate online: 2026/2027 AGS PTO "No Fuss Fundraiser" OR scan the QR code on the "No Fuss Fundraiser" Flier.

Health Class Reminder
All middle school students have a four-lesson state mandated health curriculum that our physical education teachers deliver during SRT. Those lessons will begin for some students toward the end of September. We rotate students in for these lessons, then rotate them out once they've had them. Lessons include units on Human Reproduction and HIV/AIDS. According to Public Act 226 of 1977, you have the right to review the materials used in these lessons. If you would like to review the materials, please email Mr. Malecki. You also have the right to excuse your student from participating. If you wish to excuse your student, please complete this Reproductive Health Opt Out Form. Paper copies of this form are available in our main office. If you wish to have your student participate, no action is required.
