What Do You Need to Participate in a High School Fall Sport or Activity?
We have a ton going on at North Point in the way of summer work outs and contact days. However, if you plan on trying out for a Fall Sport or Activity, you need to be registered and cleared prior to the first date of Fall Activities, which is August 10.
So, what do you need to make sure you have done before August 10?
- A valid MSHSAA Physical (Please Note: only the last page needs to be turned in for registration)
- A valid Impact Test (Dates and info below)
- Complete the Athletic Registration in Focus (Info below)
- All outstanding student fines must be paid.
2026-2027 Sports and Activities Registration
Focus is the home for your NP Athletics and Activities registration.
Some Highlights:
- Registration for fall athletics and activities will open on July 1.
- The Activities Office will still check eligibility, grades, fines, etc. before you are cleared.
- You will need to complete this process and be cleared prior to participating in Fall Sports or Activities starting on August 10.
Summer Impact Testing Dates
The Impact test is a cognitive baseline test used to establish a baseline in case a high school student athlete suffers a concussion. Re-taking the impact test post-injury is a part of the MSHSAA Return to Play protocol. The baseline test is valid for two years, so incoming freshmen and juniors should plan on taking the test. If you are new to North Point or have never played a sport before, you should also plan on taking the test prior to participating in a sport. Our Athletic Trainer Chance Orf will be administering tests on the following dates/times in the North Point Library.
*Please be sure to bring a fully charged chromebook to take this online test.*
Dead Period Reminders
MSHSAA Summer Dead Period
The MSHSAA Summer Dead Period is a mandatory nine-day shutdown for all high school sports and activities. For North Point High School, this year's dead period runs from June 27th through July 5th.
It is designed as a guaranteed window for families to take vacations and rest without worrying about students missing practices, workouts, or tryouts.
Enjoy the break! Use this week to relax and recharge. All Grizzly athletic programs will resume on Monday, July 6.
MSHSAA Fall Sports Dead Week
The Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) mandates a fall sports "dead period"—a system-wide pause designed to give student-athletes, families, and coaches a true break before the fall athletics season.
For 2026, the standard fall dead week runs from August 1 through August 9.
Official fall sports practices and tryouts will begin on August 10, 2026.
Save the Date - Grizzly Welcome Day is August 10, 2026!
August 10, 2026 is Grizzly Welcome Day!
We have two time options to try to meet the needs of our families, 9:00am-Noon & 3:00pm-6:00pm. We recommend that if you plan on participating in any athletics or activities, you come later in the second session so that you can head directly to the sports/activities meeting that begins at 6pm in the auditorium.
You'll be able to take a tour of the building, meet many of our North Point Staff, ask questions about your schedule and much more!
This year, in an effort to protect instructional time during the school year, we will be holding our student picture day here at Grizzly Welcome! All 9th-11th graders should plan on having their yearbook photo taken on Grizzly Welcome Day.
Wagner Senior Picture Reminder
Senior parents, please be on the look out for communication from Wagner Photography on the next round of dates/signups to take your Senior Yearbook Photo. Seniors will not be able to get this done at Grizzly Welcome Day, so please take care of it on one of the available dates this summer at North Point High School.
Upcoming Dates:
June 15 - 18: 9am - 4pm
July 13 - 16: 9am - 4pm
These pictures are taken in the NPHS Auditorium. After you make your appointment you will arrive on your designated day, park in the back of the building and enter in the Auditorium entrance.
