Library Book Fair

The annual book fair will be held in the library from October 5th -9th. Family Night is Thursday, October 8th from 5-7 pm. We hope to see you there.

7th Graders Test Worm Responses to Environmental Stimuli

In 7th grade science, students have just completed study on experimental design and are starting a new unit where they explore what it means to be alive. Based on the driving question: "Can I design a good science experiment?" this lab takes the skills they just learned and allows them to apply that to investigate how earthworms respond to various stimuli. Students decide what they want to learn about their earthworm (for example, "Can worms hear?") and design 3 experiments to test their questions. Experiments are approved for the safety of the worms, and students collect their data. Data is compiled for all classes and used to analyze each sense, coming to conclusions about which senses worms have and do not have based on data.

Congratulations to Harmony's Outstanding Counseling Team!

Harmony's School Counseling Team was recently recognized as earning a Red Star designation by LCPS Counseling Services. Earning a star recognition requires great diligence, planning, and drive towards building and maintaining a comprehensive school counseling program that supports the needs of each and every student, the school, and community. We are extremely proud of the work of our team: Mrs. Sharp, Mrs. Brown, Dr. Pecoraro, and Mrs. Pierson.
