Dear Hiawatha Families,

It’s hard to believe that Winter Break is already here! We have had a wonderful stretch of learning, growth, and community building, and I am so proud of our students and staff.

There will be no school next week for Winter Break. Students will return on Wednesday, March 4th, for a three-day week.

I hope your break is filled with family, fun, and relaxation. Whether you are traveling or staying close to home, I hope it brings rest and time to recharge.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready for the start of March!

Warmly,
Kolby Snellenberger
Principal

Dear Hiawatha Community,

We are so excited for Circus Week March 9-13! It’s going to be a great week of togetherness, celebration, creativity, and perseverance. We can’t wait to see our students shine.

Due to circumstances outside of our control, we will not be able to have the Friday evening performance on Friday, March 13th. Instead, we are looking forward to spending the entire day together here at Hiawatha on Friday. Students will rehearse in the morning, and in the afternoon, we’ll gather in the gym as a school community to perform for one another.

We are so sorry that, due to our gym size, we will not be able to invite families to our afternoon celebration on March 13th. Regardless, it will be a special opportunity for our students and staff to celebrate each other’s hard work and courage.

We are exploring options to record the performance so we can share the magic with families.

Best wishes, Alice and Timiny

Winter Clothing Reminder Winter Clothing Reminder

This is a reminder that during the winter months, please send your student to school with a hat, a pair of gloves or mittens, a coat, snow pants, and boots. Students go outside for recess unless the ‘feels like’ temperature is below zero degrees.

Also, please pack extra shoes for your student to wear inside the school building. Wearing wet snow boots is not only uncomfortable but makes for wet floors, which can lead to injury.

If you need assistance with obtaining winter coats, please contact me.

Thank you,
