MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS
Dear LMSA Eagles, As we embark on this end of semester one, let's continue to work together to cultivate a strong school culture where every student feels empowered to reach their full potential. As I shared during the ALSC meeting and whole-school town hall, we have very specific goals that we will accomplish if we keep our goals in view. Our focus must be on three key areas - attendance, academic achievement, and pro-social behaviors.
Consistent attendance is crucial for academic success. Let's work together to ensure that all students are present and engaged in learning every day. More specifically, we want to attain at least 92% individual and school-wide attendance EACH week and EACH month for rest of the school year. We believe in challenging our students and providing them with the tools and support they need to excel academically. Students must make the most of their time in class and flexes as a means to ensure that they achieve optimal outcomes in their courses. Last but not least, we encourage all members of our school community to demonstrate kindness, empathy, and responsible behavior.
Across our campus and in every classroom, we will work together as a team to achieve common goals. We understand that learning can sometimes be challenging. We are committed to continually providing a supportive and understanding environment where all Eagles (staff, students, and parents) feel valued and respected. Together, let's continue to cultivate a school community where every student feels included, engaged, and empowered to make a positive impact on the world.
Sincerely, Principal Banks

Equal Opportunity School Survey
Lindblom is a partner school with Equal Opportunity Schools (EOS), a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to ensure that underrepresented students have equitable access to America’s most academically intense high school programs and succeed at the highest levels. As part of the partnership, all 9th-12th grade students will be completing the EOS survey during their advisory class on Wednesday, January 15th which will give our staff important information as we begin programming students for classes next year. Our goal is for 90% of our 9th-12th graders to complete the survey.

BE CHALLENGED
State Seal of Biliteracy
12th grade students will have the opportunity to test for the State Seal of Biliteracy during 3rd quarter. The State Seal of Biliteracy is a recognition given to high school seniors who can exhibit the ability to communicate in two or more languages (including English) by the spring of their senior year of high school. The Seal is a CPS Early College and Career Credential. Recipients have the award listed on their final HS transcript and a Seal of Biliteracy sticker placed on their diploma.
Students must sign-up to test by completing this Google form by January 17th at 12pm. If a student would like to test in more than one language (for example Spanish and Arabic), they should complete the form twice. If you have any questions about the State Seal of Biliteracy and the testing, please reach out to AP Meadows (mmeadows@cps.edu).

BE ENGAGED
Origin is a youth-led, project based program designed to inspire the next generation of leaders and prepare them to lift up their voices to fight for equity! Through the 10 week program, students design and implement a community-service project of their own choosing. Projects have ranged from high school preparedness workshops for younger students, to mental health resource workshops for adults, to Chinatown clean up days!
We will recruit high school aged students from any background up until January 22nd, and our programming will begin on February 1st. If students have any questions, they are welcome to reach out to me personally at elizabetheisenlohr@cbcacchicago.org.
