November 2025 CMS Newsletter
Dear Cody Middle School Community,
As we turn the calendar to November and head into the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, I want to pause and say, very simply, thank you. It has already been an incredible start to the school year, and I am deeply grateful to serve as the principal of Cody Middle School. Quarter One brought so many bright moments for our students, from academic growth and strong behavior to the small everyday wins that over time add to something even greater.
This fall has been full and exciting. Our first season of activities was remarkable, with our Football, Cross Country, and Volleyball teams all having outstanding seasons. Our Bronc & Filly student-athletes represented Cody Middle School with great effort, sportsmanship, and pride. This season we are off to another strong start as our Filly Basketball teams and Bronc & Filly wrestlers take center stage. Whether they are competing at home or on the road, these student-athletes continue to show immense heart, resilience, and teamwork.
I also want to highlight the powerful things happening in our art and music programs. A special thank you goes out to Mr. Brown, Mrs. Lajko, and Mrs. Manuele. Every year, they take students, many of whom have never played an instrument, sung in a choir, or seriously studied art, and, in a relatively short time, help them create music, performances, and artwork that are truly impressive. Watching our CMS bands or choirs perform, or seeing our students' art displayed in our building, is a powerful picture of what public schools do best! It shows how Park County School District 6, and Cody Middle School in particular, bring together students with different backgrounds and skills, provide structure and support, and help them grow into something stronger, more confident, and more capable than they could be alone.
As we move into Quarter Two, we are putting a renewed focus on attendance and academic follow-through. Being present every single day in class matters! Regular attendance and steady effort are some of the most important predictors of student success. We are committed to helping every student stay on track, and your partnership at home makes a tremendous difference. Thank you for checking grades, encouraging good habits, and staying in communication with us.
In this season of gratitude, I want you to know how thankful I am for this community. As a principal, as a father of public school students, and as a member of the Cody community, I am grateful for the trust you place in us. Our students are growing into kind, capable, and confident young people because of the combined efforts of families, staff, and the wider community. It remains my great privilege to serve as the Principal of Cody Middle School and to work alongside such an outstanding group of professional educators!
Thank you for being part of our Cody Middle School family. I hope this season brings you and your family time with the people you love and moments of rest and joy.

Required Student ID
If your student rides any bus, please make sure they have their Student ID. PCSD6 Transportation will begin strictly enforcing the use of Student IDs on all buses, including in-town field trips. PCSD6 wants to make sure all students are safe and accounted for as well as be able to identify when and where they get on and off the bus. If your student requires a new Student ID, please let the Cody Middle School Front Office know and we will provide you with a replacement card form that you can return to us along with a $5 ID replacement fee. If you have questions, please call the PCSD6 Transportation Department at 307-587-2851.
