While they don’t currently offer an e-wallet option, I:55 Gift Cards provide a convenient and flexible solution for families.
Gift cards can be purchased online: I:55 Gift Card
The purchaser chooses the email address where the gift card is sent—often their own.
From there, they can easily:
Print the email and send it with their student
Forward it directly to a teacher or librarian
Or both, for added flexibility
This option is simple, secure, and ensures students can shop without needing cash while still allowing parents and teachers to stay involved.
Dear Saint Ambrose Parents,
We were blessed by a lovely day on Tuesday at St. Francis for our all campus morning of reflection, safety/security training and professional development meetings (our day was packed). I am so grateful for our incredible teachers and staff that make up this community.
Our safety and security focus was on behavioral threat assessment. This presentation was important for all campus employees.
Strategic Plan Update:
We continue to work on the strategic plan goals that were outlined during our accreditation self study in 2023-2024. Below are the objectives we are focusing on this year, with some notes to update you on our progress.
OBJECTIVE 1 – Improve overall experience of belonging -for students, this is how we work on conflict resolution, living the virtues, and practicing the Saint Ambrose Way. I am proud of the work we do each day in this realm. We want students to know that they belong here, and that they belong to God.
OBJECTIVE 2 – Improve learning experience for all students-We are focused on continuous improvement in academics. This means using our resources well to meet the needs of students, and to challenge them to grow-we are working on impacting achievement for every student. One way we do this is by giving teachers time to work on grade level teams (trying for limited teacher lunch duty this year, which gives them more time to collaborate), we also hosted a vertical meeting on Tuesday so that teachers can talk to the grade level above and below about learning goals and achievement.
OBJECTIVE 3 – Improve teaching experience for faculty and staff- Teacher/staff input this year - after every meeting, we ask teachers for feedback on what went well and what we can improve. We publish all of the feedback so teachers can see how their input will inform decision making. Additionally, we have a staff question/input/concern form on safety and security. Finally, Melissa Schisler is spending time with each teacher to check in on how their year is going in general, and then to check in on their faith -how we can help provide opportunities for faith growth for teachers.
Teacher Compensation-after last year’s compensation study was concluded, it was evident that we had work to do for some of our teachers. While we were on par for some levels of education and experience, other strands of teachers were farther away from our compensation goal. Thus, we were able to give bigger raises to those who were farthest from the targeted numbers we rec’d from the study. I will present next year’s proposed budget to the finance council at the end of November, and will focus on another bigger move toward our goal salaries for teachers. Tuition is our main source of funding, and we are working to balance not pricing families out of Saint Ambrose while working to pay our teachers a salary that shows their value, and encourages retention of our incredible professionals.
OBJECTIVE 4 – Improve Safety and Security Preparedness and Practices
We continue to move forward with the recommendations from the MN School Safety Center (Homeland Security). With our Security 360 partners, our next steps are to discern committee members to help us move forward with our planning, training, procedures and policies and building insights. We hope to have our first meeting in early December.
OBJECTIVE 5 – Improve communication to unify stakeholders in working toward the school mission- We have provided a few parent input opportunities-a recent lunch survey and parent input on safety and security. We are thrilled with the hiring of Erin Weinzettel as our Director of Communications for the whole campus. She will help us to continue to improve communication.

Virtues in Action - Respect
This month our school is working on the virtue of respect and how to be clean from our Saint Ambrose Way. Respect means that you accept somebody for who they are, even when they're different from you or you don't agree with them. During November, we will focus on showing respect for others by smiling and saying "thank you" when someone does something for us, listening carefully when someone is talking, being a kind and welcoming partner, cooperating with others, using time well, and being a helpful and considerate friend and teammate. We will practice the tenet of being clean by picking up after ourselves, keeping our classrooms and common areas free of trash and clutter, and washing our hands and using good hygiene practices.
We honor and celebrate All Saints Day (1st), with special focus on St. Frances Xavier Cabrini (13th), Blessed Miguel Pro (23rd), and St. Andrew (30th).
We welcome families to join us in focusing on respect and being clean at home.
Wellness Challenge
This month we are focusing on gratitude. Each day at school, we’ll reveal a different topic on which to reflect and be grateful. We invite families to join us at home. It would make for wonderful dinner conversations.
Child Safety Curriculum – Circle of Grace
In November, students in grades K–8 will begin lessons from the Circle of Grace Child Safety Curriculum. This program, required by the Archdiocese, helps students understand the sacredness of who they are and how to recognize and maintain appropriate boundaries in relationships.
If you have any questions about the specific lessons being taught, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher (or Religion teacher), who will be happy to share more information.

Please Prepare: Bus Driver Shortage Now Impacting SoWashCo Schools
South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) is at a critical stage with a bus driver shortage that could result in cancellations or delays for bus routes in the mornings and afternoons.
If your student’s morning or afternoon route is expected to be impacted, families will be notified by phone, email or text, with as much notice as possible.
With this unfortunate situation, we are asking for your assistance:
- Please create a plan to provide your own transportation to get your child to or from school in the event you are notified of a morning or afternoon route cancellation
- A route cancellation occurs when no drivers are available
- As we move into late-fall and early-winter, ensure your child is dressed appropriately for colder weather in the event of a route delay in the morning or after school
- A route delay may occur when a bus driver completes their regular route, and then has enough time to complete another route that does not have a driver
If your student’s bus is cancelled for the afternoon route, please pick up your student from school as soon as possible. Staff will supervise students at school until each student can be picked up in the event of a delay or cancellation.
On a daily basis, our mechanics and transportation administrators have been serving as substitute drivers. We will continue to do everything in our power not to cancel bus routes.
We continue to recruit new drivers and have excellent benefits. Pay starts at $27 an hour and insurance eligibility starts at 20 hours per week. Please click here to learn more and apply.
We understand bus delays and cancellations will affect families differently. We pride ourselves on providing safe and efficient transportation for students and apologize that we are in this situation.
Sincerely,
Abby Baker
