A message from Mrs. Bardwell

This week, all students will be taking an ACAP Practice assessment in Math, Reading, and Science. Please see the be mindful of the schedule, and make every effort to have your student present and on time for testing.

Below are a few things you could help us with:

  • BE ON TIME AND PRESENT each day your child is scheduled to test. Students who miss the scheduled testing administration will make-up the test. In order to avoid missing academic time for a make-up test, please have your student present on the designated testing days.

  • Remind students to bring their charged laptop and charger every day.

  • Make sure your child gets a good night’s rest and has breakfast (we provide breakfast at school each day as well). Snacks are not allowed in the testing room.

  • Drink plenty of water. Drinks are not allowed in the testing room.

  • NO electronic devices are allowed in the testing rooms. Cell phones or Apple watches are not allowed in the testing room. They will remain in students’ backpacks outside of the room or should be left at home.

  • Students should bring a physical book to read after the test. Stuffed animals, toys, fidgets, blankets, pillow, etc., are not allowed in the testing room

Then, middle school students will enjoy their Fall Ball on Saturday, October 24th. From 6-8 pm, middle school students will get to dance the night away. Start planning your fun fall attire and practicing dance moves. It is always a BLAST! Clink the Fall Ball flyer to purchase dance tickets in advance.

Would you be interested?

We have lots of events through the year that would benefit from parent volunteers.

Mad Scientist Day - This is a fun filled day of hands-on science experiments and demonstrations for students. Parents could help set up experiments between classes and assist in facilitating when appropriate.

College & Career Day - This is a day where we help students get acquainted with a variety of college and career options. Parents could help contact businesses/colleges for the career fair and assist the day of with set-up.

STEAM Night - Thus far this has been our BIGGEST event. We would ask parents to help contact local companies asking for participation in our STEAM night. Parents could also help up organize and set up/break down after the event.

Color Run - This is a fundraising event for MGES and MGMS. Funds go directly to the schools, not through PTA. Prior to the event, we would ask parents to help with the organization of this event. We would need additional parents to help on the day of the event with the throwing of the color.

Check out the link below and complete the GoogleForm if you find one that interested you. We will contact you to discuss exactly how you can help.
