Dear Roadrunner Families ~
Highlights from the week include:
Fruit & Veggie Snacks: Students kicked off our healthy snack program by enjoying crisp apples, juicy pears, and crunchy carrots. See below for additional information about Fresh Fruit & Veggie Grant awarded to Renton Park this year.
Great Shake Out Drill: We joined schools across Washington state for the state-wide earthquake drill - some classes even practiced safety procedures while out at recess!
Conflict Manager Training: Our 4th and 5th Grade leaders began their training to serve as peer Conflict Managers - building skills in communication, empathy, and supporting peers with problem solving. Thanks to Mrs. Loura Williams for her work as advisor to this group.
-
Disability History Month Continues: Morning announcements are continuing to help us learn how advocacy and inclusion have shaped disability rights — ask your child what new fact they learned this week!
Fun Run Kick Off - Continued our Fun Run Fundraiser by learning about this year's space theme, school-wide goal of $9,000 and school incentives for reaching the goal. We are currently just over $5,000 so keep up the good work!
Music in the Morning: Students entered the building on Friday listening to familiar songs like Golden from K-Pop Demon Hunters and Do You want to Build a Snowman from Frozen. Ask your child about it!

WAY-TO-GO Recess Reminder
At Renton Park, we’re excited to launch a new way to celebrate students who are showing our Roadrunner values of being safe, respectful, and responsible.
Beginning this month, students who have not received a suspension, major write-up, and no more than one minor write-up will be invited to join a special ALL-SCHOOL “Way-to-Go Recess” at the end of the month. This is a chance for us to come together and recognize positive choices across our school community.
Students who don’t participate this time will spend the recess making a plan for how they can meet the expectations and earn the next Way-to-Go Recess.
We believe every student has the ability to rise to the challenge—You got this, Roadrunners! 🏃♀️💨
