Coordinator's Corner

This is it! We are in the home stretch of the 2024-2025 school year. It's a flurry of EOG and EOC preparation, state testing sessions, CTE PBMs, and end of year celebrations. While May 21 may feel like eons away, it will get here so much faster than any of us realize. It may feel overwhelming some days because of the paperwork and the cleaning and the end of year organizing. Be sure to take each task one day at a time.

Our BT3s will finish their Beginning Teacher program and move on to "veteran" status! This is quite the accomplishment, and we're so proud of each of you.

Whether you're wrapping up your first year or your third, remember how far you've come. You've built relationships, created classroom communities, and made a real difference. These final weeks are a chance to reflect, celebrate, and finish strong. Lean on your support systems, keep showing up for your students, and trust in the skills you've grown all year long.

You've planted something meaningful this year, and it will continue to bloom in ways you can't yet see.

Keep growing ~

Lydia

Lenoir Rhyne Residency Program

Our 100% online program is perfect for teachers in your school who need to obtain their secondary/middle grades teaching licensure (Science, English, Social Studies, Mathematics) or their PE/Music K-12 Licensure as it is an approved Residency Program.

This program could be a great opportunity for any other staff members you might have who have earned a non-education bachelor's degree but are interested in moving into a teaching position!

I am also excited to share that we also have a unique opportunity to earn a tuition-free Master of Arts in Teaching degree for anyone with a STEM (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, etc.) bachelor's degree (non-education degree) who is interested in getting their teaching licensure so they can teach a STEM subject. End of Year Burnout: How to Finish the Marathon in Stride

The end of the school year can feel like the final few miles of a marathon. Not only does your body not want to go on, your mind wants to be elsewhere. And the situation is not helped by the fact that the dreaded tests are over. Feeling burned out is quite common. In one of my previous blog posts, I drew upon the work of Cary Cherniss, whose book Beyond Burnout gives great guidance about factors most likely to lead to teacher burnout and some ways to detect and prevent it.

But the end of the year is different. Detection is not the issue. Neither is prevention. You are at mile 23 and your lungs are bursting, your legs are cramping, your mind is in a jumble, and you just want say, “Beam me up, Scotty.”
