We have had an amazing start of school and today we have our first pep assembly! This was our Legacy Assembly where we strive to instill a sense of pride in our students and we promote leaving a positive legacy at Dobson.

We also want you to know that our first home Varsity Football game is on August 25th at 7pm. We want YOU to be there! Kickoff is at 7pm and this will be the night that we honor the memory of Coach Alex Jacobson, former Varsity Football Coach. Tickets are only available online at the GoFan LINK. Also, please be aware that we have a clear bag policy in effect for all Mesa Public Schools events.

Dobson High School participates in the Paws & Peers school therapy dog program in collaboration with East Valley K9’s Angel Dogs. The goal of Paws & Peers is to provide a new way to incorporate lessons on social and emotional learning, resiliency, empathy, and the human-animal bond for students and staff. Students also interact directly with the dogs for more individualized learning opportunities. These dogs may serve as a trusted companion in the classroom, counseling, health or administrative offices for crisis intervention, behavioral de-escalation, or to address stress, anxiety and/or isolation. If you would like more information OR if you do not want your student to participate in this curriculum or animal engagement, please visit our front office.

Due to staffing, breakfast will be available in the cafeteria from 7:15 am to 7:30 am.

9th-11th Grade Picture Day is Friday, August 25th during English classes! Make-Up Picture Day will be Monday, Sept. 18th during lunch. If you student misses picture day and does not take a photo on make-up day, the will not be listed in the yearbook under their class section. Please be on the look out for picture day packets coming home in the next few days. If you would like to place a photo order, you can send your student with money following the directions on the picture packet.

Senior Cap and Gown Portrait Deadline: December 1, 2023 (if you choose Option 1)

PLEASE KNOW: We WILL NOT accept senior pictures from any other studio or photographer. We WILL NOT accept senior portraits after this deadline. Missing this deadline means your portrait WILL NOT appear in the Senior Section of the Yearbook. We do have two options for senior pictures.

A $40 deposit will be collected at the time of scheduling which can be applied to print orders.

Option 2

Attend Senior Portrait Day on campus

Monday, September 25, 2023

Take your senior yearbook photo on campus on senior picture day. A limited number of poses will be taken on the yearbook background only. Students must be dressed to impress. The senior photo will be taken in a studio provided cap & gown.

If you are absent on this date, you must do Option 1.
